Yes, I know JSB is hired to manufacture AA pellets per AA specs. When I weight and sort AA verses JSB in same weight there are fewer variation in AA verses JSB. At least over the last 5 tins of each. AA is more consistent in my sample.

But why would you think JSB is less consistent with there own name brank compared to AA when they make both?
I will IMO tell what I think it is .
Different runs of pellets with slightly more worn patterns for pellets maybe lead inconsistence
That is why when I order JSB pellets a year apart some times shoot different

So I am looking at Avenger stuff as it looks like a great PCP entry point. I am watching AEAC and he mentions that AA has their own dedicated dies for JSB to use for them. See 48:30 in the video.

Since no one wants to watch the video: JSB pellets are made from multiple dies. AA/FX, etc lots are made from one random die, not their own "special" die. This lot maybe more uniform because only one die is used.

As for why? I do not know the profit margins. They may make more off it than regular production.
