I sighted my .22 slug shooter in yesterday with the new to me JSB .217" 25.39 Knockouts.
Upon seating, I knew to grab a micrometer. They come in at .216" to .2165" majority. This isn't bad. The choked LW did surprising well with them at 880-1030fps I tested. Especially out past 100 yards.
I was able to get a 100 yard zero with a SWFA SS bottomed out using FX No Limit rings and raising the back to .089".
Feeler gauges on both sides when tightening them down. That's crucial guys.
If everything is level, you must make sure that your adjustable rings are also.
I probably have 10 sets of feeler gauges in different configurations. I also use them when setting each side of my rings, the Quad rail, everything. Especially valves. Along with a Ft/inch torque wrench. These aren't no 600 Nitro Express. No need for more than 10-15 ft/inches tops. Be kind to your optics.
Yeah, kind. Well Since someone camo paintrd this SWFA I let my Dad try it on his Savage .22WMR. He likes it as a fixed 16x but he's been giving me stuff lately as he's 78 and I guess he figures his time will soon be up. So it's back.
I achieved the 100 yard zero with turret bottomed out. I know. I usually keep everything optically centered but I don't care about this scope that much. So a 100 yard dead on zero and a little over 32 mils on tap.
Nice. It returns to zero. Hope it stays.
For most situations I don't have to click with 100 yard zero and 10 mil reticle.
