I got my first opportunity this afternoon to test the performance of the Hades on our local collared dove population. I used both my FX Wildcat and FX Royale 400 with the Hades. They are shooting at 915 fps and 920 fps respectively. I had zeroed both guns with the Hades this past weekend and I was happy with the performance. Accuracy at 30 yards in my backyard was very good and almost as good as the JSB 18s. However, there was a significant POI shift between the 18.13 and Hades in my Wildcat.
My friend Hawkeye69 printed me out new range cards with data from Strelok. I used the JSB 15.89 data to generate the range cards and it seemed very close. It was too windy today to get a feel for how well the JSB 15.89 numbers work for the Hades past 85 yards, but to that distance it seemed very close.
With all of the birds I recovered there was a distinct exit wound that showed considerable expansion. Out of the forty some birds I shot today very few flew any appreciable distance before plowing in and most dropped were they were shot. Shots ranged from 35-85 yards. Overall I was very happy with the terminal performance and accuracy of the Hades and I will definitely keep using them on birds from now on. Thanks to JSB for bringing out such a great product.
