JSB 4.52s

my Daystate loves 4.52s. The JSB tin has the sticker on the back that says 4.52. I checked them with my pellet gage and half are 4.53s, is this common? Thanks Saxon

Yes. The number on the tin is the average of the head sizes of all the pellets in the tin. This number is arrived at by measuring a few of them from that die and performing statistical analysis on them.

What problems does the 0.01 oversize cause you???

I'm curious because it's a microscopic difference in size. Can you accurately and consistently measure the difference in actual results?

I ask because I'm curious if any pellet manufacturer can keep their skirts within less than 0.01 variation.

If I go above 4.52 when loading the pellet I hear a crunch sound. I was checking velocity and noticed a significant drop in velocity when using larger pellets.
