Jsb 34 grains vs 25 grains: Wind effect

Have been testing 34 grains in my fx royale .25 for a few weeks now. I feel that there is no big difference in bucking the wind when we compare it with Jsb 25 grains. However, the energy retention is great especially at longer distances.
I would like to know the opinions and the experience from those who are using 34 grains and is there any advantage of 34 grains over 25 grains when shooting in wind especially.
looking forward to everyone's response. Cheers

No there is no real advantage. The 34 will have a little less wind drift than the lighter pellet but the truth is all pellets drift dramatically in very light wind. If you shoot pellets you will have to know how to deal with wind drift.

Here is the amount of drift using the 34 gr jsb and the 25 gr jsb based on velocities from my wolverine.

5 mile per hour wind at a 90 degree angle to the shooter.

34 gr. 25 gr.
50 yds .8" 1.1"

60 yds 1.2" 1.6"

70 yds 1.7" 2.2"

80 yds 2.2" 2.9"

90 yds 2.8" 3.6"

100 yds 3.3" 4.5"

So you can see the drift is significant considering its only a 5 mile per hour wind. You can also see the difference between the two pellets is minimal until 80 yds and farther. The heavier 34 gr. starts to gain some advantage at 80 yds but the 34 grain still has allot of drift. So even shooting at 50 yds with the heavier pellet in a very light wind like 5 mph will require the shooter to judge the wind correctly and hold off to keep from missing or maiming the animal or the bulls eye if its a paper target.

Heres a test I did last year with my Royale 500 to see my wind drift at 100yds. I had a consistent 6mph wind right to left. Air Arms 25gr were shooting 910fps, 34gr MK2 were 810fps. Top right target were MK1, lower right MK2, center were 25gr. Holdover was full mildot between the 2 sizes. Today I shoot the MK2 at 825fps in the Royale 500, the group shifts closer to center. I defiantly like holding less for wind with the heavies. I recently went back to 25gr in my wildcat and had to relearn my wind drift with them. I was only able to get a max of 815fps with factory set reg pressure. Eventually I plan to turn up reg pressure to get into 830+FPS to run the heavies again.
