Jsb .30 50gr bad pellets?

Which barrel did you get? I've had a few different Leshiy 2 .30 barrels. I found the Alfa barrel shot the 50gr better than the 44.75. If the LW then you should be fine with either 44 or 50 grain.

Slugs need to be sized .303 IIRC for the Alfa barrel. FX Hybrids aren't so good. Never tried Zans. The LW barrel is really a pellet barrel - never had luck with the few slugs I tested.

My Maverick is a tack driver with the 50gr I had assumed it was the slow twist 1/37. But the other day I had the liner out and traced out one of the grooves and it only makes appoxamently 3/8 turn in 600mm so I'm not sure what that works out to be 1/59 ?. I ordered it from Ken and told him I would be shooting only 50gr maybe he had something laying around

I have tried to get the 50gr to shoot well and for the most part never got better than 1.5 MOA at 40 or so. It is big power and plenty hunter accurate for larger game at that level but could always shoot the 44.75 better and a little faster, same energy for the most part and much better accuracy.

I assumed my twist wasn’t right for the weight. I figured a FX 1:18 would shoot them better then my 1:22 or 1:37. My Uragan was the only gun that shot them best at I believe 1:17.7 which makes sense for twist rate. Also the LW edgun barrel 1:16 does ok, not wonderful, about 1.5 MOA also at 40. I think the speed was 840s or so if I remember on the Uragan, the 1:16 barrel is 880ish at my elevation. As soon as I tried to move them faster I get worse results. Not sure what the magic speed should be for them.

The 44s are just so much more versatile with speeds and tunes. I think this is the main reason guys stick with them for the most part. I have 4 tins for about a year and try every 30 cal with them and only had decent luck once in 10 rifles I think. Just haven’t found that magic rifle/tune/accuracy window for them.

I have been very happy with the 50s in both my Impact M3 and in my Crown MK2. They also shoot well out of my Leshiy 2, but that does have a 600mm FX barrel. I have them averaging 929 FPS out of the Impact and 930 FPS out of the L2. In all cases they are shooting at about 1/2 to 2/3 MOA at 50n yards. I haven’t tried them at 100 yet though.

Looking for .30 cal ammo for my Leshsiy 2 barrel I just got in a trade. Nothing is in stock except 50gr. Are they that bad, that no one buys them? JSB and FX are in stock at most places.
You might try the Hatsan Vortex 48gr pellets. $9.99 per hundred on Amazon. I had good luck with the 44.75gr Vortex in my R5.30.

Holy cow !!!!!! just bought 10 tins at 8.99 each free shipping,.....what a smoking deal, thanks for the tip brother :)
AirArcher- let us all know how those shoot out of your guns.
I keep around 5 tins of those, for three main reasons-
1. For initial rough tuning on the chronograph
2. For initial sight in after a scope install to get on paper
3. For whenever my friends show up and want to shoot full auto with my LCS- SK19 in 30 cal.

FYI- at Midway they always have these in stock, also, at $8.99

FX 44.8 grain and JSB 44.75 shoot better through my Guantlet 30. I'll try and test the AEA Terminator 30 soon.

The 50.15 give you more power but the accuracy is weird with them. Also you need a pretty powerful gun to even bother. It seems like an old design where the middle part is flat. If they designed the heavier .30 pellets closer in shape to the .25 MKII Heavies they'd probably have a winner.

Most of these cheap Vortex pellets on sale are knock-offs / counterfeit pellets. Not to say they won't shoot, but you might want to hand select them as some have damaged or weird skirts and lead peeling.

When Hatsan 44.75 Vortex pellets were made by JSB they were interchangeable with JSB & FX pellets, virtually identical. The "Vortex Strike" pellets are a different animal. They're a different & harder alloy & IMHO the quality control sucks. I still have some of the old Vortex & the new & they are NOT the same. As long as the alloy is of the JSB type both the 44.75 & 50 gr shoot lights out from my Original Smooth Twist Boss.

Well as for this morning the pellets didn't ship so I cancelled the order,...after reading some comments about the pellets I figured I didn't need them that bad :)
