JSB .25 34g Heavy Pellets (FX Barrels)

My FX Royale .25 and my Impact .25 both shoot Heavy 34gr better than 25gr Kings (Hence the reason I just bought $2000 worth of them). They fit into both the Royale (11 shot) and Impact (16 shot) magazines, but a few of the holes sometime require an extra small push with a pellet seater to get it to 'click' into place. The Heavies definitely do not cycle as smoothly as the Kings, and they load a bit 'rough' - reminiscent of my days shooting Beeman Kodiaks in my Marauder. But, the gun doesn't seem to care one bit about any of these 'issues'.

The pellet has impressed me enough that I will likely devote a video comparing the two JSB .25's. Having shot 1000's of the new heavies, I have noticed many significant differences.

Here is a 100-yard, 16-shot group (magazine) shot today as I filmed my review of the Impact. Unsorted pellets.
The group was shot through the video camera, in slow-motion.

"X-Hairs"Ted - Can you clear this up?

In your Facebook photo of your hoard of .25 JSB Heavy pellets - the tin labels are missing the MK2 label, yet the number stamped on the box seems to correspond to the new MK2 pellets.

Just exactly WHAT are you shootin' friend?

Thanks!
I can't say for certain which kind (MK1 or MK2), I have been shooting this whole time. But, I can say that they have all been the same (not a mix of the two). The first time I bought them was from Pyramyd Air. I purchased four tins - all small one (150 ct) because PA was sold out of the large tins. Upon seeing the results (in my Royale 500), I immediately contacted PA to buy more, and to inquire as to when they might get more. They had none left, and were unaware of when more might arrive.

So, I contacted AoA. They had a lot in stock. I bought 50 tins from them. The pellets purchased from AoA looked and shot identically to the ones purchased from PA.

Then, when I went to Extreme Benchrest and got my new Impact, and found out that all smooth twist barrels seem to love this pellet, I immediately bought 120 more tins.

I believe them to by MK1. But, having only ever seen ONE version of this pellet, I can not say for certain.

"PCPair"search on the forum for ".25 JSB Heavy quick review" .30 posted some pictures to show the difference between the mk1 and mk2's. I bought 10 tins last week and believe they are MK1 pellets but not sure of it. The skirt itself seems thinner. Is there a way to tell for sure (batchnumber?)

If you bought JSB Exact King Heavy MKII they say "MKII" on the tin. The MKI just say 'Exact King Heavy'

X-Hairs,

I've had so much luck with the 25.4 JSB with the Bobcat MKII it was hard for me to try something else, but curiosity got the best of me and I ordered a tin of MKII 34 gr. and gave it a go. These are groups from 25 and 50 yards with 25.4 vs Heavy MKII.. Temp outside was about 38 degrees with 5ish mph crosswind. JSB Heavy MKII had no issue loading in the magazine neither. Comparing how they both shoot, I would say they are very similar in accuracy when shot through my rifle. I still have a few tins of 25.4 so I don't see myself switching anytime soon to the heavies ,but its nice to know that the MKII is another good ammo choice if I decide to experiment with my setup.

CJ_86 - Thanks for the info/pics! Damn nice groups any day of the week. Since we are both using the same rifle - this gets me stoked to give those heavies a go - will be delivered on Monday (I ordered the non-MKII [original] JSB Heavies which I believe Ted is nutzo about in his FX). Still a bit concerned with the overall size of those JSB originals in terms of ease of loading and possible breech o-ring wear. You seem to be achieving good results with the smaller profile JSB MKII design. Ultimately I wont know until I try them both - but your effort/sharing is appreciated very much!

So it seems i have the MK1 heavy's. They shot at 780 fps from my marauder. 860 fps with the 25,4 grain. I tryed them at 105 yards. They did not shoot that different and did not drop as much as i expected. You do feel much more resistance when loading the MK1 heavy pellets.

I did not get good grouping with booth pellets yesterday (4-5 cm groups are realistic with my marauder with occasionally smaller groups).but i think my huma inline regulator is to blame in combination with the cold weather (hight difference but overall good horizontal allignement).

Have to do some more testing.
