JSAR Raptor or Raptor mini?

Since the Raptor prevailed over the Uragan, no disrespect to AGT. The next real question would be the standard Raptor or the mini? Both range .177 to .30 cal . The mini is 37” overall with mod , the standard Raptor is about 48” with mod. Would the slightly less power potential and lower shot count be enough difference maker ? Or does the almost foot less OAL make it the star? For the record , I currently favor the mini , and I still feel the standard Raptor and Uragan are almost equal.

I would go with the mini 48” is quiet a long gun, for me anyways... I vote mini...

I put a longer bbl in my Mini. very powerful and only 41 1/2" with the full size Raptor bbl. for slugs.

I have the full size Raptor and it shoulders easily as it is not heavy. If you hunt more I’d opt for the Mini. Both are efficient with air because of the balanced valve and regulator pressure can be set a little lower than average. I also ordered a second Raptor and juggled getting the Mini but I really enjoy the 500cc reservoir with over a 100 shots slinging JSB 18gr @ 960fps. You will like either one you choose! Very fun guns to shoot .

I had a 500 cc cf bottle here so put it on the Mini along with full length bbl. Lots of shots, lots of power, still not very long.

And just my 2 cents, I wouldn’t discount that Uragán just yet. With the Huma, that thing is going to be a beast.

centercut , crusher , i am in no way discounting the uragan . this is a continuation poll of one i posted and i was seeking opinions. from folks that own these guns or just researched them . it was a which do you prefer and why. based on my feedback which was like 3 to 1 favoring raptor . i then put it to the standard versus mini. again , for feedback , opinions and why? my OP puts out a hypothetical comparison and i add the feedback to my research and i take no sides.

Is the Raptor really 48" long? The JSAR web site says 43" with the LDC.

My full size Raptor with Tatsu measures 44” fitted to my LOP, I am short with very long arms! The butt stock is adjustable for length, up to 3” approximately and vertical adjustments too. I have a Discovery HD SFIR 5-20X50 FFP that has some weight to it and helps keep the balance toward the shooter.

Raptor is a good choice but I will admit that the full size is a tad long if your gonna cary it through the woods much..I use mine for shooting paper off my bench rest so length isn't an issue.

Whatever your decision, I'm sure you will be happy.

Full length Raptor barrel is listed as 22" long.

Mini Raptor Barrel is listed as 16.5" long.

That's only a 5.5" difference.

I ordered a full size raptor, because if I'm spending that much money on an airgun that can shoot slugs, I want as much power on tap as possible. Extra barrel length + larger plenum = much higher potential FPE.

If only shooting from the bench or stationary position I guess length doesn’t matter. As soon as you try and tote that long puppy afield then it might.

I prefer shorter guns so I went with the Mini. The minis comes with a 17" barrel (says 16.5" but Travis told me 17"). How much power are you looking for? All out power definitely the standard. I'm still playing (very little sadly) with mine but with the 17" barrel in .22 I can easily push a 16gr to 1000fps with a 2000psi reg pressure. It only has a .165 TP for pellets but I'm going to elongate mine when I have the chance. Should really sling them then. But I likely will get a .30 barrel for mine down the road. I just love a .30 and am missing my WARP .30.

I ordered a Mini! I think the Mini is giving me enough power already, even when it is mini, it's not really that mini. Compare it with a bullpup and you will see it is still big!

My Raptor is full size and doesn't seem that long. I actually have longer airguns. 

My thought process was that I've already got a Veteran for my short gun needs and didn't have anything in the collection for big power, in case I decide to ever go that route. With my other airguns, full size seemed to make more sense for me personally. 

However, if it was my only gun, I might have looked harder at the mini cuz sometimes compactness is a highly desired feature (truck gun).

i have to offer a retraction. the raptor is only about 6" longer than the raptor mini. my boondoggle. i misread the spec sheet.
