Couple years ago I asked him for a higher dollar opinion in two occasions and based on that I bought two high quality scopes for my two different shooting games... best purchases in my life, the guy knows the scopes. And I will ask him again next time.

I also value his opinions. I own no Vortex in part because of Joe and his opinion helped me deside to try my Arken and Athlon. I think he gives his honest opinion. Even if he has to use some colorful adjectives.

Joe seems to be a straight shooter (no pun intended!) and will give his honest opinion of any scope out there.
I respect his opinions on scopes and would heed the advice given.
Bummer that he got slammed for being honest by one of the (apparent) lower tier scope manufacturer's.

I've dealt with Joe before , through pm's and I even bought a scope from him that had suffered the notorious "nipple twister". He's a straight up guy in my book and I like his no B/S , no drama reviews. He has cost me a lot of $$$$$ , but I have always been pleased with my purchases.

More people who do reviews needs to be Iike Joe! None of these fluff videos showering everything with glowing reviews. There are ALWAYS negatives and things that can be fixed

The question is which brand was it?
I think I know which one because I saw them at our local gun show but can't remember the name of the Co? Those scopes reminded me of the one I bought at Big 5, I think a $120 mini 3-9 that had a RD on the rings. Ha it wouldn't even sight in and the RD wasn't much better so I returned it for a refund.
It was a failed experiment but the lesson was learned.

I don't go to "gun shows" and I don't buy scopes that I haven't researched thoroughly.
