Putting a PIR sensor on some bait, tied to a alarm in the house, that is dedicated pesting, not least if the thing are not disarmed at night 
TBH i like the idea, i think i will tell my M8 who do have some mouse / rat problems at his farm, and for old lazy farts like us it is better to sit in front of the TV or computer waiting for DING - DING VS playing Rambo in a bush, not least in the winter
