I rotated among 5 horse ranches back in 2010-2012....taking out ground squirrels...here was my arsenal at the time: The two on the right are HPA conversions (Regged) that I still have today. Then the Discovery .22. Both bottle guns shot count were around 50-60 shots/fill. The 2300T carbine CO2 was for barn rats which was not the fun part of the task..

I actually started with a stock 850 Magnum CO2 .177 shooting 8.4 gr JSBs.(12.FT LBS) .but most squirrels I was getting were inside 35 yards....then I had to start taking longer shots from 40 yards plus and that is when I got the 850 HPA .177 shooting JSB 10.3 gr at 960 FPS (20 ft lbs). I was shooting them out to 50 yards + . As I cleaned out the close in squirrels I finally used the Discovery .22 at 26 FT LBS for those out beyond 50 yards and the Dominator HPA .22 (30 FT LBS).and occasionally the 850 HPA .177.

Just giving you an idea what is possible from my experience with the .177...just stay on top of the wind. Horse ranch hunting you can set up your shots to use the wind to your advantage. I actually made a shot plan for all the corrals as the first ranch the owner had 19 Arabian race horses...also the horses get use to the shots fast...hard to spook them after the first couple days.

I have not tried slugs at all yet. My plan was to get into those with the Reximex Throne...My 850 HPA ,177 has a choked LW barrel so no way am I shooting slugs in that rifle.

Barrels on the Throne will be easy to work with with regards to slugs...at least I'm thinking that. I'm just wondering if they are really going to Spec the rifle at 250 BAR with a 500cc tank ? My HPA rifles do just fine at a 3000 PSI fill including the Marauder.

I remember somewhere Troy mentioned he was requesting the 250 bar cans. I have a 480 cc carbon fiber bottle I may switch to.
