It's correct that this is NOT a 457 mold yes?

A seller stated to me that this may be 457 because of the bottom numbers. Just want to confirm that it is not a 457 mold an indeed a 45 cal.

looks to be 457, I looked at the 452 and all those #'s started with 452 .
looks like the 330 grain 457 if I was guessing.
Are you looking for 45 pistol ? If so it should be a 452 ?

Those molds typically cast closer to 458. If you're casting pure lead with very little tin possibly 457.

Thus design was intended to shoot in 45 caliber rifles like the 45-70

Should have said 200 grain is the one I'm looking into. I'll have the guy put a caliper on the cast bullets and get a real measurement.

I found the info on the mold in question so I assume this will not work on an S45. States the driving band is .467

I am shooting 370-400 gr in .452 with the bushpig .

I'm not sure what size you're aiming for, but it's pretty typical to run cast bullets (for rifle at least) through a sizer to size them to the diameter you're after (assuming it's within a couple thou of the unsized projectile.

That mold is reversed tapered for going in the barrel of a muzzle loading rifle. Definitely not what you are looking for.

I saw that when I looked at the band sizes. Good to know. I guess if I ran them through a sizer that would work? It would size the .462 & .467 rings down correct? Not a huge deal if I don't purchase this mold. I just thought I'd try out casting my own slugs for fun.

There are other molds available that are closer to the size you need. Are you limited by length in your magazine?

464 seems to be the max height for these mags.

After measuring "approved slugs" for this gun. Yes, I would need to put slugs from that mold in question through a sizer.
