It just goes to show you no matter how much money you spend you can have problems and I would rather have problems on a $500 air rifle than a $2000 air rifle. And I’ve seen some of the cheaper air rifles get many years out of them. It’s like rolling the dice.
Very sensible, IMO.
Re bullpups, people do seem to be liking the Benjamin Akela, and it's not too expensive. I've only ever held the one I own, but from that one I can say that they are SO comfortable to hold.
Also, I used to think that cocking them from the rear would be some level of awful. It's not ideal, and it is a little weird, but you get used to it. And it's really not that big a deal.
