Isabella Lake,CA hunting trip .

Last weekend ,Renzo and I headed on a trip to Lake Isabella, located in the Sequoia National forest ,close to the city of Bekersfield ,and about 150/200 miles from LA(depending the departing point ).
The weather was great .
The idea was to go there to hunt squirrels .

The area is well known by hunters, and as a matter of fact,we encounter another crew of hunters, but they were using fire arms .
The squirrel population had taken a hit because of the many people hunting them ,and ,to said the least ,they were very scarce .
We manage to get 4 between Saturday and Sunday Morning ,after walking the hills for 16 miles according to Renzo's high tech watch .
Yeap !16 freaking miles !
Taking into consideration everything,it was a nice trip .
Getting out of the city in a camping trip is always a refreshing experience .

One of the more important moment of the trip was the small BBQ we ate Saturday evening.

We took care of the leftovers! :)
we didn't see too many but it was great to be out, away from the city. The weather was perfect, the wind wasnt too bad 5mph. I use to go there once or twice a year and It's better if you go early March/April, after spring this place gets really hot and dry.
When we weren't after the squirrels we were shooting clays, Sergio's Colibri is a tack driver, targets were set from 75 to 170 yards, it was fun shooting the propane tank, you could really tell your hit or miss by the the sound :)

I hope you guys have a nice time this Sunday !
I won't make it this time .
This Sunday, I'm planning on going to feed my local squirrel population .
There are plenty of little ones now close to my house .
I'll go there to spy on them , and bring them some offerings (no, is not in the form of lead ) LOL
Hey, you have to take care of your live stock !Right ?
