Is there a pellet shortage?

I am just setting up my PCP stuff and ordering pellets and seems Pyramid Air and Air Gun Depot are out of the majority of pellets on their site. Any help on where I can get a good deal on 22 ammo for an AEA HP SS. And do I need a slug liner to shoot slugs? Sorry for the dumb questions. PCP noob.

I've used Utah Airguns and Airguns of Arizona. Also, try Trenier Outdoors, and, ohioairgun.com (its not the big Ohio store). These places probably don't have a deal like Pyramyd and Airgun Depot but they may have things in stock.

Trenier has always worked out as cheap or cheaper than the others for me. Ship fast and pack well too.

Baker Airguns is another possibility, they've done right by me.

Depends where you order from. I've seen lots of out-of-stock for pellets at Amazon for pellets I've previously ordered on Amazon.

Rumor has it , the US no longer processes lead in country so we are forced to buy it from China.

Doe Run Lead Foundry was the last in The USA to close.

The environmentalists got the lead smelters closed. We can mine the ore, but not refine it. Also, the pandemic has slowed shipping and manufacturing.

Seems to by like toilet paper; lots of people stocking up when the shipments arrive. My experience has been I can get what I want but have to accept the long lead time. Pyramid has been pretty good at estimating delivery and keeping me updated.

There is a shortage at our Big 5 and our Walmart, too. I've looked for months at Walmart, and been told they are still all leaving the shelves within hours.

I had a hard time finding pellets a few months ago. Everywhere I looked online were out of stock for the 22 caliber wadcutters. I like the RWS the best and called Umarex And they told me That they were on the loading dock and ready to ship. They weren’t lying because pyramid air and all the other air gun stores had them the following week in stock.

I had been unable to find my preferred 7.4 gr Crosman pointed pellets. WalMart, Amazon, and every other place I looked were all out of stock.

But thanks to your post I found packs of 500 count 7.9 gr Crosman pointed pellets at Gandoor for $4.13.

The shipping cost was high, but I offset that by simply buying more pellets so the bottom line price was $6.62 for 500. I can live with that.
