Is The Uragan .22 Accurate ? .. See For Yourself

Hi Guys and Gals,

I waited to buy one of these for a bit and finally pulled the trigger, no pun intended , and I am Very Glad I did...

Quick Back story, Received the gun from Utah Airguns a couple ,of weeks ago, they did their " Free " test deal boxed it up and sent it my way, Great Service as Usual..

After receiving it I topped it off to 250 bar and broke out the chrony and the 15.89 JSB's as they were the pellets UA used to test it , ran a mag through it, it was Way to Hot, 1020 fps +.. ( This was not on UA, they are a million feet high elevation , i am below sea level and humid/dense air )

I went ahead and filled the mags with the 14.3 jsb knowing i was going to shoot paper at 50 yards for now. I got the gun tuned to 860 fps with those pellets and proceeded to zero in my scope, less than half a mag later the results speak for themselves in the pic below.. This was less than 20 shots total before shooting the target at 50 yards for the 1st " concentrated " effort on a target.

Test Conditions:

Out doors off Bipod and Rear Bag, 8-10 mph cross winds, Un-sorted jsb 14.3 grain at 860 fps @ 50 yards...

This gun will out shoot me.. Lol

So if any of you are concerned about its accuracy , Don't be !

Very nice shooting! I have a .22 as well and my experience has pretty much mirrored yours. What's really amazed me is the consistency of the rifle and how it holds zero day after day regardless if I clean it or take the moderator/shroud on and off or remove from the bag. Shot some groups with Predators at 50 the other day and they did just under an inch. Not bad for shooting with the same tune that throws 18.1s at ~905fps.

I’m amazed that the gun shoots 14gr pellets that are almost completely unaffected by a 8-10mph crosswind.

Good point. The correct answer is a minimum 3 inch drift under those conditions. And with those conditions that is world championship level shooting. I know that I and every other shooter at the 50 yard benchrest at EBR wishes they could shoot like that...

I appreciate the props …

Ok Full Disclosure , I have been shooting competition 1:1 guns for over 35 years. I use my airguns to keep my old ass sharp , I literally shoot outdoors every day , unless its raining or too damn cold.... So yeah maybe I should have put that information in the original post, but that doesn't really take away from this guns accuracy IMHO ...

How is the trigger on these guns? Would you say it beats an Impact or Wildcat?

The trigger on mine is a what I would consider an A- or strong B+ and here is why I rate it as such

1) the 1st stage has Zero resistance, when pulling you just feel the movement of the rod until it hits the 2nd stage. ( i don't see any way around this , its just the way the linkage set up is ) Once up against the 2nd stage you feel the slight weight of pull through the pull.. Full disclosure mine is still set at the factory settings which works fine for me..

2) The trigger blade itself is Plastic on the Uragan, it really doesn't bother me that much, after getting used to it , and it seems to fit my goriila , sausage fingers ok, I just prefer a steel or aluminum trigger with adjustable height and cant.. I am a lefty btw... .

I do currently have a Dream tactical , and have owned an Impact as well as a Wildcat. The DreamTac has a Great trigger , damn near on par with some of my High end 1:1 competition gun triggers.. I like just a little 1st stage resistance, the DT has just that....

So I guess I could have just said " No " it is not as good as the FX trigger but I figured an explanation why wouldn't hurt

Thank you and the explanation was great

I own for some months now a Uragan in 22 Cal.

I have had best results with Jsb redesigned with 25.39 grain.

I own 18 Pcp's from 4.5 to. 357 Cal.... Because of accuracy, total lenght, quality, weight, shots per fill, sensation when shooting, this rifle is what I had been waiting from an air rifle... For my expectations, this is the perfect air rifle.

I'm also own two Vulcan 2, in 30 Cal and 25 Cal that I bought before the Uragan. Vulcan 2 are extraordinary air rifles, but I prefer the Uragan. I already have harvest some trophy's with the Vulcan 2 in Cal 30, but in my mind the Uragan in 30 Cal would give more confidence because you have more shots per fill.

Because of the results I obtain with the Uragan 22 with 25.4 grain, the Vulcan 2 in 25 Cal was eclipsed.

I have not try yet to adust the trigger of my Uragan 22 Cal. Now is not the best, but is perfectly acceptable. I like the triger adjusting mechanism of the Evanix. I can easily play with it, but the adjusting mechanism in the Uragan is different an I have not try I yet.

I would recommend the Uragan before any other rifle. My Daystate air rifles are far away more pretty, but the perfection I expected was given by the Uragan.

Regards.
