Is the impact .35 for me?

Ive got a kalibrgun .35 now, bone stock with a holosun green dot on it. LOVE this gun and caliber. I think I want to add another .35 to my collection but with more shot count and versatility. Ive never owned an fx, or impact for that matter. Theres such a huge aftermarket for them but very little mention of the .35. The 68gr hybrid slugs could have some awesome potential if the come out with a liner. Im just worried the platform of the gun is not up to par with the big cal. Any input from owners here?

Ok after some really quick research on here, seems their a little under powered and Im not about that lol.

I own one and am happy with it. I have the adjustability and the ability to change calibers, even though I keep my .35 as a .35. I shoot the JSB pellets and have them at 885 to 890fps but have room to shoot them much higher.

The .35 is the step child of FX as it hasn’t been given the same attention as the other calibers. Still no slug liner after more than a year, as well as the tuner doesn’t come in that size either. No carbon fiber sleeve to stiffen the barrel but I hear there is a new barrel system coming but not sure if it will be for the .35.

Huma has a power kit for it but it really depends on what ft/lb your looking for and still keep the accuracy. NSA has a few slugs for the rifle with some having very good results with the 93gr. 

There is now the barrel kits for 700mm, 600mm and 500mm which Utah Air has been offering as well as a few other vendors but they don’t stay in stock long. All and all I am very happy but would definitely like to see the same offerings from the other calibers for the .35.

As far as power goes with my settings, first reg 190, second 135, its at 145ft/lbs but with changing my macro wheel to 16 I am at 154ft/lbs.

The impact is a plaform. It allows the user to easily change calibers after purchasing the correct parts and doing the leg work without a pro shop. There's no pro shop here so that matters. 



I got the 35 and was getting 147 ft lbs very easily with about a 10 minute tuning session. I've used pellets as well as slugs at 93 grains. I have not tried anything lighter than the pellets which were about 82 grains (FX brand, but not sure on that weight without looking to be sure). 

My impact M3 35 was about maxed out on power around 147 ft lbs. So it's worth noting. 

The cool thing is, I took my time and swapped to 25 cal (my favorite caliber for airguns) and was able to tune it to 82 ft lbs in another ten minutes. 



I have to be honest I have been looking at the Airgun Technologies and Kalibrgun brands in 30 or 35. I think they are very compelling products.



So if you're purely looking for 35 power as opposed to platform and after market parts you can easily find and airgun that produces more accurate shots at over 150ft lbs. To counter does Airgun Technologies and Kalibrgun make a 35 that outdoes power of the 35 cal Impact? Certainly other brands do but do not provide all the same features.

If power and accuracy were my ultimate goals at 35 I might look at Aea or an Airforce Texan (just 2 ideas of many). 



I don't have any regrets with the 35 impact. But I'd like to try a high power Daystate or American Air Arms air rifle some day.



Therefore if you're hung up on getting more than 150 ft lbs, keep looking is my recommendation.

The kalibrgun comes up short at 125fpe. However, I could easily tune it to a 150fpe but requires machining and thats one gun I want to leave alone. Its a decent shot count and accuracy in such a small platform. Its AWESOME for night time coyotes up close.

I currently have two Benjamin Bulldog .357s and I bought an Argus .30 cal as I didn't need to be slinging so many fpe every time I went hunting. Unfortunately, the Argus was defective and had to go back, but I'm currently in the search for a 100 fpe .30 cal that could for l fit the bill for small game and smaller predators.

Unfortunately, bone stock, you only get 10 full power shots, and five lower power shots. The Bulldog is also unregulated, so that opens up groups, but the larger caliber kinda makes for any errors from varying velocities. I also have a heavier hammer spring which allows me ~190 fps with 142 gr NSA slugs at the cost of shot count. I have very good accuracy with the Predator Polymags, and they fit my magazine no problem. I can't wait until the JSB Hades get released in .357, as I expect those to hit harder than the Polymags.
