Air Venturi Is the avenge x worth it?

Is the avenge x worth it? I’ve watched many of the great videos of this gun on YouTube and it seems pretty good. I’ve had an avenger I loved it, I currently have a Notos and absolutely love it. As an air gunner I clearly needed more guns. I’d like to hear your thoughts on the avenge x. ps. I already ordered it so please tell me it’s good and I made a good purchase 🤣

I bought the Avenger in .25 a few years back when they were kinda new on the scene. I was instantly smitten with the ease of tuning and accuracy. Mags were cheap and I bought spares. I stuffed a tea towel in the stock to deaden the cheap hollow sound. Finding and paying for .25 pellets became enough on an issue that I invested in casting and got a 4 cavity NOE 251 27 RF mold and the gun loves them.
My next upgrade was the Buck Rail tactical kit. That completely transformed the gun and changed my opinion of tactical guns.
My next upgrade will be to swap out the short lower air tube for another long tube as soon as PA has them in stock... should be next month.
The point is... I don't think the AvengeX could do anything for me that the Avenger don't already do. Even if it didn't have the hefty price tag. I say hefty because if you're anything like me you won't be happy until you buy all the optional whistles and bells.

I am impressed with my .22 Avenge x bottle with saber tactical chassis for the money spent. I wanted to shoot slugs with it for my under 150 yard gun/ 100 yard/backyard targeting...At first I could only get good groups with .22 25grn jsb redesign.at 930fps..I tried several weight nsa .217 size and fx hybrid .217 and no luck in the accuracy at various speeds. It was like a shotgun in group size.
I noticed they were really really tight pushing the slug in the barrel...so I pulled the barrel and slugged it and as I suspected she's a really tight bore with a measurement of .2140...and appears barrel is unchoked. I bought .214 and .215 sizing dies from noe and resized some RMR 22grn slugs to .215....they load much much better and smoother. The accuracy is dead on now. Very accurate at speeds of 975fps, 985fps, 990 fps and 1005 fps...In fact in no to low wind conditions out to 170 yards I can consistently hit 1.5" sized targets. 100 yards is stupid accurate with groups 1" and under.
Now keep in mind along the way I did trigger upgrade with match adjustable shoe and lightweight trigger springs. I polished parts and replaced seals that were leaking after the first week of ownership (fill probe and few others). It had bad reg creep from day one but I fixed it by replacing the regulator piston face to 4mm peek and reg has held rock solid at 2900psi since the upgrade and hasn't moved...very good regulator with quick refresh rate.

All in all, after a few upgrades (trigger, barrel band, regulator), doing a once over checking all components, cleaning barrel extensively, lubricant on components and adding the saber tactical chassis, its become one of my favorite go to guns lately for no to light winds under 5 mph conditions under 150 yards on small game/backyard targeting. Just fun to pick up and shoot. Easy on air, accurate, nice balance, quality feel. Keep in mind I have owned many many high end guns costing 3x the money invested and I have to say it's been a great gun in alot of categories performs wise at an even better value. Definitely in my favorite guns list.

I hope my reply was not considered a dis on the X as that was not my intention. I'm sure it's a and gun with many configurational options. I have not had any personal experience with the gun.
I spent the extra money to make the Avenger what I wanted it to be. In the case of the X, many can get what they want right out of the box at a cost.
No worries brother, not a dis at all. The ori avenger is a seriously awesome gun, and casting your own projectiles for it…well that may just be cooler than the gun itself. I wasn’t too worried about the extra cost of the x because the x offers more features that I personally really like. I completely understand your perspective especially considering the time you have into it.
