Is eBay the best place to sell an airgun?

While browsing eBay for things I don’t need, I stumbled upon a Benjamin bulldog for auction. Not that I need one, already have one but what caught my eye was the price it was selling for. At $709 it was $150-200 more than what they have sold for on AG forums. AND there’s still a day and a half left until the auction is over! Meaning this thing might sell for more than $709!😳

Now, I would never buy a used airgun from eBay because it would be like buying a box of chocolates. That’s why I love these AG forums, you can buy with confidence from some reputable people. BUT I will not hesitate to sell an AG on eBay if I can get $200 more. I can’t see what could go wrong as long as you’re being paid with paypal. Moral of the story: don’t just post your AG for sale on here, try eBay. You might be pleasantly surprised with a couple hundred more than you were expecting!

my friend there are many scammers who bid but then do not pay. then sellers relist items.

I’ve sold quite a few items on eBay and never had a non paying bidder although they are out there. I can see how that can be annoying but it’s an annoyance I’m willing to risk as it doesn’t make me lose money. This is why I suggest having it for sale on the forums and eBay.

eBaggers pay crazy money sometimes. That's why the Crosman 600's skyrocketed. In fact they ran up all the old Crosman co2's.Try buying a Mk1, MK2 or a 150. Even the older bulk fill co2 rifles and pistols and rifles are up there now. They go ape shirt for any prewar guns. Then there's eBag's little Texas 1%. And play pal gets there dip. I have paid a few times with money orders. That was prearranged by me and the sellers. If you DON"T use play pal eBag offers NO backup to buyers! But i don't care. I'll take my chances, thank you, and avoid the sinful sots at play pal every time I can.

I would much prefer to buy and sell airguns here on AGN and other reputable forums. Knowing the members and community I am dealing with goes a long way in developing good relationships with members, buyers and sellers. I have a good level of confidence AGN members would not post a gun they messed up or a bent barrel in good conscience without clarifying it in the post.

I've been trying to decide where to advertise my vintage and target air pistols. I have about 35 mostly vintage Daisy, Crosman, FWB, S&W, and numerous other brands and want to thin the herd to maybe 10. I have been looking for the easiest but safest way to do it. There are so many scammers out there that I have been putting it off. I have bought the majority off ebay and so far have not had any problems but have never sold any. I have also used Gun Broker for many years for buying powder burners, but I don't have any experience selling on line. What do you guys recommend? Is it hard to sell without a history for selling on the forum for sale ads?
