Apparently those 800mm barrels are extremely "harmonically friendly" My question is how far will this "new normal" go before it becomes obvious a products redesign is in order?

I don't think going with a 800mm has anything to do with a "faulty product design". It only helps support those inclined to up the performance of there current gun. An Impact with a 300,500,600 or 700mm liner have a huge fan base that loves their choices and the guns they are placed on.
