Noob question....I’m sure .30 and .303 mean the same thing daystate calls their rifles 303, everyone else says .30/7.62 but what about 308? I ask because I’m interested in a Texan carbine but according to everysite except pyramidair they don’t exist in .30, but they do in 308. Common sense tells me .30 is .300, .303 is .303 and .308 is .308. I don’t see the texan listed as .30 and .308 separately which leads me to believe the calibers are the same. Kind of like how the 300 blackout is the same bullet as 308/762 but different case.

Thanks. So when I see a texan listed as .30 it’s really a 308 but when another company says .30 they mean .300??

On the Texan website I don't see anything that is listed as a .30 caliber. They are listed as a .308 and that is the ammo needed. Any manufacturer is going to show the ammo required as specified in the exact caliber needed. So, if you are seeing a listing on another website that says it is a .30 caliber then maybe they have transposed it wrong.
