Is .177 a doomed caliber ? I sure hope not !!!!

I live in Norway, and .177 is so much more convinient to buy and own. No lisence to buy one. Bigger calibers is not that big issue as long as you have licennce, but if you like to buy ammo from other countrys you have to get a licence for every order you make, to get it trough the customs. So .177 is more convinient, as it does not require extra paper work, and lisence fees. Also .177 does not nescesarry have to be stored in a weapon safe, like bigger caliber does.

While this is the NET ... as a LOL moment of which given the opportunity, would take the challenge of anyone with there best of .177 shooting against any ones best of .20 cal in around 20 fpe having much confidence the .177 shooters going to loose against a .20

Lol .. screwed up not having the "Quote Tag" attached on those posts above stating .20 was dead and such other silliness.

I recently bought a HW100K in.177, and it is becoming my favorite backyard rifle, which is generally 30 yards or less. It's shooting at 18 fpe, is very quiet, and the squirrels that have encountered it are....well, dead. I've never owned or shot a .20, but I know that Scott is not the only one around who likes it. I can see where, at 20 fpe, it has some ballistic advantage over the .177, and avoids the more extreme trajectory of a .22 (at 20 fpe). I don't compete in FT, and between the .177 and .22, I seem to have what I need, but I may try a .20. Back on topic though, the .177 is so established in both competition and entry level air guns, I don't see it going away.

I also just bought an HW100tk in .177, my dream rifle, from Airguns of Arizona. I haven't received it yet, and the anticipation is killing me.
