So the week leading up to the match was a challenge, I managed to run over a couple of strings, then somehow I broke my zero turn, and had to leave it stranded midway on lane eight, leaving half the lanes needing mowing! Brad Troyer, being the trooper he is, made it out to the range sometime after sunrise, I got there around 6.50am and he was already weed-wacking the lanes I had to abandon.
Jeff Hale came out to play, and very kindly took a look at the zero turn that Brad and Stan had managed to move out of the lane, Jeff managed to get that machine back running! So big thanks to Brad, Jeff and Stan!!
Even with the threat of rain, we had a decent turnout of thirteen shooters, and despite maybe four drops of rain, we finished the course dry and happy.
Ray Barnett couldn’t make Baton Rouge this year, so that made this match his first of the year, and without any practice he got the top score! Maybe I wont keep saying he needs to get a better scope?
We also had a new shooter, Grant brought his younger son Winston for his first match, and he did really well for his first time out. I am sure we will be seeing the trio at many more shoots.
Jim Baumann is planning on hosting a match soon, will keep everyone updated as soon as he announces a date.
