Introduction

Hello all.

I recently became interested in air guns back in April, after accidently coming across the sport with a parallel hobby. As luck would have it, a former colleague sent me his old air rifle to use as a learning platform. Fast forward to today, and I now have 4 air rifles (including the first), a portable compressor, a not so portable compressor, a 9L tank, and a high pressure "bike pump" (used once, almost died, bought the portable compressor immediately).

I've been extremely blessed with some of the folks I've met locally, providing me with a ton of information as well as opportunities at gear I probably wouldn't have come across so early in the hobby. Thankfully, or regrettably, I have very limited impulse control and have seized most of the opportunities that came my way.

I look forward to learning and growing in the sport, I even have thoughts of competing at an event in October. We'll see what the cards hold.

I'm in a unique position. However, here's the run down of what I have in the order I aquired them:

Umarex Gauntlet 2 - non-SL in .22
FX Wildcat MK 1 - .25
Umarex Zelos - .25
FX Crown MK2- .25

Dumb luck and opportunity. That said, I identified rather quickly that where I'd like to go with this sport had a low celling with the Gauntlet 2, so I had interest in a more advanced platform. I had the opportunity to shoot a couple of Daystate Redwolf's, Alphawolf's, BRK's, and some other exceptional rifles with some locals. By chance, evidently I was designed to be an FX fanboy as those were the opportunities that arose.

I had to look those up. Yowza! Pricey! I'm definitely not in that league... YET!

I had a similar "intro" to "real" air rifles at the range a couple of years ago. A dude there had an FX Impact M3. He let me shoot it, and I was hooked. But then I found they run about $2200. So that put the "kaibosh" on that idea for a while. And just a couple of weeks ago, I settled on a Benjamin Marauder (regulated) with Lothar barrel. I'm quite pleased with it as my "entry level" air rifle. Who knows what I'll get in the future? But future air rifles will still compete with my desire to add to my firearms collection. I like my firearms!

Where you live is dangerous if you have little self control!!! Airguns of Arizona in Gilbert will get your money!!
Im in ND but spend time in Mesa in winter. check our Rio Salado range they have some very active airgunners over ther. I joined just for the two to three months im there in winter.

Welcome to AGN and airgun shooting. I got ack into airguns a few years ago getting some old Crosmans repaired. Now I’m up to 17 and shooting competitively with some excellent shooters. It’s addictive, enjoy.

Well outside my league too. Wild shooting airguns with electronic triggers and built in chronographs.

I mostly shoot "Traditional" airguns as one of my things is to stretch the distance of a guns abilities the edge, and I don't have room to for that with my PCPs, other than going to the range.

@ZeroVibe - Welcome to Airgun Nation. Arizona is a great state for airgunners. There seem to be quite a few active shooters and some active clubs. I suggest trying out some matches if they fit into your schedule and travel time.
