Howdy folks!!!

So I am "new" ish to air systems. I do have a nitro piston breaker and a 357 bulldog currently and have had various other breakers in the past.

I have been wanting to get into the PCP realm with a 22 and REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted to order up the Avenger Bullpup.

You see, I have a very extensive knowledge of paintball markers and have wondered why air rifles were not regulated for a very long time. In fact I've been trying to sort a proper way to get my PB bottles through a reg to my adjustable and desired PSI to my PCP. The options have been cumbersome and less than ideal. Keep in mind I'm "frugal".

So now the Avenger is out with built in reg at a price I can see paying. Honestly didn't know about it for the past few years until I saw an ad for the bullpup. Anyway, that got me looking and researching again and now I am finding that Semi-Auto rifles are more common, more reliable, and with a decent price point.

I guess the issue I am having is choosing between the Avenger Bullpup and a semi like the Hatsan Invader?

Is there a regulated semi out there than can shoot as well as the Avenger for under 5 bills?

I have found the K1 and a few others but those are WAYYYYY outta my budget.

Looking at 22 mainly for the round count and speed could MAYBE go up to 25 but not real keen on that option just yet. Looking for mainly pest control, target plinking, therapy.

Anywho, first thread here.. been lurking for a few weeks, so hopefully I can gleam some info from the more knowledgeable folks here.

avenger has a decent price point. If you have a bulldog, then you have an air supply- that's a big cost right there. I don't know of regulated semi auto stuff under $500.
Yeah the avenger isn't bad at all for what it is... And I may go that route... Just wanted to sort out any other options that I may have missed.

Don't like "buyers remorse" when I jump the gun and end up with something that has an oddity that I never heard about.

Actually I only have hand pumps currently... Soooo.. yeah another reason the bulldog doesn't get lots of trigger time... 😜

Hello and welcome to the forum. I like the avenger rifles that i have two of them. One is wood and the other synthetic and both is 22. I also have a hatsan at44 as well as an impact m3 and i find myself shooting the avenger more than any of the others currently. For what they cost I think they are great rifles.
Good to know!!! One of my "issues" with the pcps has been that sweet spot in air pressure vs valve spring vs hammer spring... And so a regulated system makes sense to me and I'm happy to finally see a quality rifle at a price I'm willing to pay for such.

With the exception of the easily swapped barrel, I prefer the bullpup to the avenge-x.

Anyone wanna sell their ABP???

Thanx for the feedback Charlie!

Hi Mook, welcome to AGN. I know "regulated" and "sweet spot" are guide posts. But I have a 22cal Hatsan FlashPup. I think I got a refurb 1 as my entry into the PCP world few years back. From a full fill,, except for my 1st two shots which r slightly high past 35-40 yds,the thing is phenomenal. Very accurate and hits unbelievably hard. I have never touched the the inners. I slapped a coat of poly-urethane on it,tossed the mags, shimmed the scope rail and have been a happy camper ever since. A word of caution about semi and full auto is " THE TRIGGER ". As far as I know they have not gotten around that ?able trigger. And the trigger is a (must) key feature in an accurate, enjoyable air-arm. I am currently eyeing a SnowPeak(Diana) P15 bullpup in .177. A little pricey at $430+ but it has a history with high marks. good luck
