Internet ???

Have you "cleaned up your computer lately ?
Just the removal of the thousands of "cookies" will help things along. Is accessible in all windows computers.
Then do a "Disc Cleanup" (again, program in all Windows computers). BOTH the basic and the "System Files".

I also use a free program called, "CCleaner". It also cleans up a lot of crap.

All this every few weeks. Hell, this routine even keeps me out of problems on those..."not for work"...websites !

Your connection to the internet is the last in a long chain. If any "link" between you and the 'net resource your using is slow, then your connection will appear slow. Mike's advice on keeping your computer "clean" is great, but there are many factors beyond your local connection that will affect speed. And if this just started, might be weather related.

South Central KY? my parents are from the London area ......

If you (are / are not) aware ,you can google speedtest and test the current upload and download speeds available to you. Mine tend to have slow spells sometimes and I have to reset the router with a hard on off cycle then it corrects itself.

Also as mentioned above the piriform software is free and works great for cleaning . they even have some free software for other tasks that are worth checking out.

I hope this helps and things clear up for you soon. Again I and my son enjoyed the pellet gun chat at the Hickory show lol.

This could be your answer. Your provider will throttle back at times.

Nothing to notice here in Denmark on cable, but Russians are hitting high and low, mostly with noob Ddos attacks.

Mind you, some times my internet die all of a sudden, then i have to disable my net card ( well the 1 of 3 onboard network cards i use ) and then wait 10 minutes.
I have no idea why the computer do that, it is not the internet CUZ my router are all lit up as its supposed to do.
Also i just fire up my laptop and use it on wifi while things calm down.

Throttling or data caps, that have never been a thing in Denmark

My 25 mbs dsl never made it over 10 or 12 mbs. I had to run my security cameras on the lowest resolution and all of our devices were constantly buffering. Thankfully, my rural electric membership just installed fiber for all of their customers and now my speed issues are gone. I'm running 3 300 mbs APs and spreading my equipment out over the 3 so I that I can take advantage of most of the 1000 mbs service I get now.
