Internal Details of a Falke Modell 70

Please help.
  1. I want to get to the piston seal of my Falke Model 70. How do I open the spring/trigger assembly? I do not want to loose a tooth in the process.
  2. Does the spring loose its power over time?
  3. Are the any any springs and seals still available ore other spring that will fit?
Wawiel,

To get to the piston seal here are the basic steps:
1. unscrew the screws in the forearm.
2. trigger guard needs to be removed.
3. remove action from stock.
4. unscrew large lug screw infront of trigger block, there is no need to drift the pins holding the trigger assembly in place.
5. unscrew the rear section that the trigger assembly is seated in. There is not much preload so the potential to loose teeth is real low. However, for safety sake some sort of spring compressor can be used, which I normally do but did not use one on the model 70. Once the rear block is removed the spring and piston are both accessible and easily removed.

Spring Power:
The spring on my Model 70 is in good shape and works just fine for now. I do plan to replace it at some point. I would assume a badly canted spring looses it effectiveness, the same as spring that has been cocked for a very long time, if this happened the spring takes a set and looses its effectiveness.

Replacement parts:
you could make new seals from leather for the breech and piston or check with T. W. Chambers in the UK at the following link: https://twchambers.co.uk/ he may also be able to provide information or have a spring replacement. If my memory is correct I think the model 70 uses a #7 Titan spring. However, when I decide to replace mine I plan on consulting with Jim Maccari of Air Rifle Head Quarters at https://www.airrifleheadquarters.com/page/page/251327.htm another potential seal and spring replacement my be to contact Vortek Products and see what they would reccomend: http://vortekproducts.com/ourstore/

I hope this information helps you get underway on your project.
