Interesting test

I had some old scratched up safety glasses and figured what the hell. Shot it with a .25 rws super h-point at 720fps or so.

Pretty amazed I thought they would shatter.

I did that test a while back.

Used a pair of my personal safety glasses that I use at work every day.

Was curious about their ability to protect my eyes, just as you probably were, Glem.

45 FPE out of the .25 Vulcan from 20 yards away.

There was some cracking but no penetration. Like you I was pretty amazed.

I will post a picture. I know I took one. Now where's my darn glasses.

Poly carbonate, being a shuttle material, is tough stuff. But when I got my new glasses, they showed me this next level stuff called Trivex. Above poly carbonate in some ways, but below it in others it seems? I think they smear a hair easier. But are definitely clearer. Anti glare coating is nice.
