Interesting, Huma high flow pellet probe for Dreamline ?.. Not so much..

Had an interesting discovery with the Huma pellet probe -v- FX pellet probe.
I did a short shot string to see how many fps the Huma added without any other variables. At 135 bar using 33.95's . Pulled the barrel and installed the Huma (high flow) probe.
2 shots with the Huma = 865, 866,865 fps. 2 with FX = 876, 878. 877 With only one variable it appears the Huma slowed the shots down. Not by very much but it seems strange. I have my port turned to the high flow dual trxfr and the spring adjust in 9 turns in. Also my Fx probe appears to have an more open flow area than the Huma does.

If your reg pressure and hammer are at the point where your transfer port and probs aren’t restricting the air flow, then a simple probe install won’t do much for velocity. But if you start playing with higher power, my bet is that huma probe will allow you more power than the fx will.

Also, the port match is a factor to flow as well. You can make that port on the probe as large as you want, but if it’s poorly located or mismatched from transfer port there wont be any gains. My personal believe is not necessarily how big that probe port is, but how it directs the air to the back of the pellet. One of the HUGE design upgrade of the Panthera is that exact theory of design. Helping the air flow without these hard switchbacks and dead ends. Flow dynamics I think will be the next big evolution in these guns.

Tell me neither are a hollow tube? Have a picture looking down inside?
You would not want an air going back into a hollow into probe at all, QB used to get filled a hit the rounded for flow matched correctly to the transfer port.

I got a Hum,a pin probe for my Maverick along with a dual hole transfer port, i have now put the original FX probe back in the rifle, and have no problem keeping up the speeds.
Anyway this dident really do much for me, aside for kicking the heavy stuff up to speed got a little more easy, but just installing the 2 parts and shoot over the chrono saw extremely little change in FPS.

But i think this is the issue here, you dont really see a result / change idling, you need to "floor" it to get the benefit of the new part.
The main problem with the pin probe, well i had to pull back on the cocking lever to work the single shot tray or insert / remove a magazine as the pin protruded a little when it was in the back position.
When you shoot single shot tray having to use 2 hands to load the rifle become quite aggravating. ( one holding cocking lever back and the other hand inserting slug and closing the tray )
