Please fellow airgunners, WHERE IS "THE BARREL O-RING" On the MAXIMUS .22 Caliber rifle by Benjamin?
I thoroughly read my instruction sheet that came with my MAXIMUS. Section 10 is the maintenance portion.
The first maintenance instruction is:
"Apply Crosman silicone chamber oil (part number RMCOIL) on the barrel o-ring every 3 months or 500 shots."
NOWHERE in the instructions do we find info regarding the Location of "THE BARREL O-RING". NOWHERE.
I have gone on the company website and located exploded views of the MAXIMUS with all parts listed, numbered
and drawn very nicely. NOWHERE did I find the phrase, "BARREL O-RING", though other 'O' rings are named.
I called the company and waited on hold till my turn came up, and I spoke to a very pleasant representative.
He searched the information available to him. Then, he in essence said to me, what his own conclusion was, as to which
'O' ring the instruction sheet was referring to. (that being the o-ring that's on the bolt) I said to him that I appreciated
his thoughts, but that I had to ask him to submit a report detailing this matter. Though his conclusion may be correct,
it may very well NOT be correct. He shouldn't have to take his best guess at what the correct answer is. Further, the pur-
chaser's instructions should clearly identify where "THE BARREL O-RING" is located! I say that this info being absent, is
a clear oversite.
