Tuning Increasing velocity with the Crosman 1322 and 2240, where to start?

In the past couple of weeks I've added the steel breach and 14.6" barrels and Crosman rifle stock to my unmodified Crosman 1322 and 2240, I went today for a few hours and fired over 200 pellets to make sure the guns functioned correctly. The longer barrels make a big difference in power, I'm guessing somewhere in the low to medium 500 fps range with amazing accuracy out to 20 meters (the limit of my backyard range). I'm quite pleased with the guns and myself for attempting and completing these relatively simple upgrades. My next project is increasing velocity and where to start? For starters I picked up a couple of stronger hammer springs for the 1377 and 1322 and it's my understanding I can use the 1377/1322 hammer spring with the 2240 (is that correct?) and I'm also looking at transfer ports with a larger internal diameter from Magnum Airpower on eBay. BTW I need to say that airgunning is addictive!

The longer barrel was the place to start.

A 1377 spring in the 2240 would be good if you were running at PCP pressures otherwise you will likely be wasting some gas. With a hammer spring adjuster installed either spring should probly be OK on Co2.

Power and accuracy mods for the 2240.

Go easy on increasing the port size and volume in the 1377/1322 valve as it will require additional pumping and a little more volume goes a long way. I recommend the flat top valve and piston assembly and a metal barrel band for the 1377/1322. I also highly recommend an adjustable Super Sear for the trigger and a hammer spring adjuster for both guns.

100% barrel. They waste a lot of CO2 and you can capitalize on that with a longer barrel. My stock crosman barrels were very pellet picky, they didn't like JSB's much at all. I ordered a Crosman barrel that started 22" i believe, cut to 16" with a crown. The thing loves 15.9 JSB,16 AA domes, Hades, and polymags now.

This is a shot string with the 16" barrel. It improves if I wait longer between shots.

Thanks everyone for all the good links, charts and information. I've decided to buy a chronograph before doing any upgrades and I'll spend time reading comments and watching videos on YouTube for ideas and tutorials. Back in November/December 2020 my wife worried about what I'd do with my free time after retirement, I'm so glad I got into airgunning! My next project is building a 1377 with a rifle barrel, just have to decide which one, 18" or 24"?

Just wanted to update you guys and gals, I purchased a 1377 with rifle stock and steal breach kit from Pyramyd Air a couple of weeks ago along with a 26" Marauder barrel, custom barrel band and pivot pin from Magnum Air Power on eBay and put it all together yesterday and sighted it in today with a Pinty 3-9x40 AO scope and compared it to my stock 1377 and the difference in velocity between the two are quite noticeable. I used 7.8g Gamo Red Fire and 5.4g Crosman Fast Flight Penatrator pellets and I can put a pellet into a can of garbonzo beans at 10 meters with the stock 1377 and with the same pellets and my new 1377 rifle conversion I can blow a hole through the can at 10 meters, pretty amazing! Now I'm looking into working on the trigger and a few simple power modifications but I want to get a chronograph before I start the power modifications. I love these guns, forums and this hobby, it's the only good thing that's come out of the CCP virus/pandemic for me.
