increasing piercing performance on my 2240 carbine

Using a screwdriver to tighten the cap is wrong. Should be hand snug only. The first shot punctures the cart not tightening the cap. You flatten out the cart seal by over tightening and will have to replace it more often.

UMMM... HMMM... I think you are refering to vintage Crosman Co2 guns. The 2240 some require a screwdriver or a coin to pierce that Co2. Check our Paul Cappelo's Airgun Reporter on his 2240 review he uses a screwdriver to cinch up that end cap and stated they sometimes need a screwdriver in order to pierce the fresh Co2 looks like he forgot the pellgun oil too. BTW... Don't get into a hurry...It will only slow you down. Yo!
