Incomplete Drill Bit Hole on WildCat?

Has anyone seen this before on their Wildcat? I never noticed it before, until I just got my gun back from AOA for leak repairs. The gun is still under the 1 year warranty, therefore, they did the reseal of the air cylinder and regulator housing. So far it seems they did a fantastic job, but the half-drilled in hole and the small dent to the left of it is puzzling. 

I called AOA about my concern and I'm still waiting on a reply. But I thought you might have some feedback.

My Wildcat from AoA has the exact same tiny little drilled (?) hole.

Interesting - I've got the identical hole but no dent. It is located on the cocking side of the air cylinder. But that is probably just how that particular air cylinder aligned itself?

I just assumed it was used to locate on when they did a final machining or assembly operation.

that's normal, the hole is complete through the air tube on one side---> what you see is the regulator body, if any of the 7 oring in the reg leak it will come out that hole.

all regulated AG has a vent hole. on the impact is on the right side upper part of the grip.

@comovez your gun is perfect and there is nothing wrong with it. that hole is the regulator vent hole and the silver part that you see inside the hole is the regulator body.

If the hole was not there before it means they forgot to place it there at the factory. AoA tries to fix the factory issues. Does that little dent come from improper initial placement of the hole?

My only concern is with the other divit/dent ahead of the breathing hole. If it is seeing full unregulated air pressure it could be a potential point of failure.

Just by zooming in on the full view WC bottom photo I don't see the divot ----- to me they are two different WC-----please tell me I'm right? 


the zoomed in photo --->the air tube is rotated further CW, and if the divot is there it should be lower then the vent hole---I just don't see it.
