In the market

Hy everyone,

my first post here and my very first time that I'm able to afford a ticket to a PCP market.

Basically all I'm after is a solid rifle, can stretch up to lets say about 2000-2750USD, which includes a scope(Hawke Airmax/Vantage) and a carry case.

I'm mostly torn between the FAC versions of FX Crown MKII and Weihrauch HW100 T, both in .22 caliber.

I'm inclined to go with the Crown, silly enough just because I'll have to order from the Netherlands and they come in plastic carry cases, which ensures safe delivery and eliminates transport damage, while Weihrauchs come in cardboard boxes I presume-.- otherwise, I'd rather go with the HW, just because it's been around for so many years, tried and trusted by many. Also HWs have their barrels stabilized with bands, while FXs have floating barrels which just seems flimsy, idk?
I like to tinker and tuning kits and performance upgrades are available just about everywhere for Weihrauchs, everyone compliments their magazine system and trigger units, while shot count on the other hand is quite pathetic tbh.

I dont know guys, help me out here, what are your thoughts on my dilemma here?

Looking forward hearing from you.

Thank you kindly.

Yes, the RTI's are very reliable. The magazines are simple, easy to load, and simple to load into the gun.

I've got a full size, which is not "really" a "bullpup", and also a Compact (which is a bullpup). I had a leak in my full size gun, but it was a simple fix. They are simple easy guns to work on, and also, they really don't NEED anything to work well. They are nice, work well right outta the box.

I have no thoughts of selling either of mine.

Hello FirstTimer,

I received my FX Crown MK II (.177 cal), about a month ago and could not be more pleased with everything about the rifle. The looks, feel, quality and accuracy are everything that I expect with this price range. I also added a Hawke Airmax 30 scope as shown in the photo. I believe you would be very happy with a Crown but your other choice is an equal.

Be safe and have a great day,

ThomasT

I’ve been shooting the Prophet for a couple month now, but have an older, upgraded Priest 2 I’ve been using for 18 months. I also have a FX Crown mk2, .22, which is a fantastic gun as well. The two are very different and very accurate. The Crown is a much smoother, more refined shooter for sure. The Prophet is more powerful, and easily tuned through a wide range. The Crown is much more polished and calm, comparatively.

Scotty, it does seem that I actually did go with the RTI. Thanks, I would have missed that cleanly.

Have an RTI Prophet II Performance .25 on preorder, directly from Spain as I type this.

Amazing shot count, updated plenum, great power and a slug friendly barrel is what closed the deal, although I never imagined myself spending on anything other than a classic form factor but since this is my first time ever spending that kind of money on a rig, I thought I might just as well go for something super futuristic. Cerakote finish does look sharp though..

Currently a 30-day waiting period, feeling pumped already

My buddy was a .25 Crown. I find it kind of boring to shoot. It keeps putting pellets in the same hole. :)

I personally own a Taipan Veteran (Compact) in .25. Not as accurate as my buddy's Crown, but very very close. That being said, "if" I buy something else, it would be a RTI Prophet. Love the field reports and adjustability.

Haha no such thing as boredom when putting pellets on pellets, plenty of ways to spice it up for sure, just add a little bit of wind, and pinch of elevation👌😁

Good luck with the new Prophet, I’m looking forward to seeing them in the wild! Of course, you’ll still need a Crown and perhaps it will be a mk3 by then.

Thanks!

Anyhow, at those prices I certainly cant afford to just buy them all over whenever I feel like it😅

That's part of the reason why I went with something fairly high tec, fairly latest and greatest, supposedly fairly decent quality, something that should stay that way and in the game for a while. Like you said, most likely when and if I'll be buying another one, they'll hopefully make the Crown III anyhow.

Enjoy!

FirstTimer, Congrats on the RTI Prophet ll, they make a very quality air gun, I just bought a used RTI Priest 2 .30 Cerakote tan, it was what I've wanted for awhile, I needed a .30 cal for Hogs, I will get it within the next couple of days,

Hope you like your gun, I hear JSB's work well in the .25 cal

Sounds good, please do make sure to get back with a genuine report after a couple of hundreds

Enjoy!

Congrats.. enjoy! I have 2, my wife has one. 2 are compacts. A 22cal and the other a 25. We have only had our compacts a month but so far so good. Accuracy isn't a problem. Built like tanks. I've had my full size Prophet 22cal for year now and shoot it 90 percent of the time. I've had a issue with the regulator not too long ago (adjustable regulator). I was sent the parts to fix it for free.. I haven't fixed the adjustable regulator yet. I installed RTI's standard regulator preset to 145 bar. I got to say I like the standard regulator a lot and will be keeping the adjustable reg for a spare to use if someday I want to go with a 30cal barrel kit.
