In the market form my first PCP.

I'm looking to get in to the world of PCP Airguns. I've owned and enjoyed multi pumps, C02 guns, and break barrels for
much of my life. I don't have a tremendous amount of money to spend but I am
considering a Diana Stormrider, Benjamin Discovery, and Gamo urban at the moment. I welcome any advice or suggestions on how I should
proceed. Thanks!

If your going for Benjamin go ahead up to the marauder. better trigger I think. they're heavy. it's always such a quandary to get your first PCP. I'll tell you now that you'll upgrade and probably pretty quickly.
You need a bottle! and then you can do what you want but if you buy an inexpensive gun , most (not marauder) will shoot inexpensively. sic: poorly.
however, my cousin bought a maximus. $200 single shot. spot on @50 yds . its light but loud. trigger is atrocious. Get that PUMP idea out of your head!
I bought a marauder. 3 months later I bought a Wildcat. 4 months later I bought an Impact. If I would have bought the impact first I would have saved $2000. get where I'm coming from????

good luck and enjoy the sport like the rest of us do.

theese guys hit it on the head ,if the used gun is to good to be true ,,it probably is ,unfortunately all the scammers havent been branded yet,,,,so be careful,,,,if you are gonna go benjiman disco ,,,upgrade and get the marauder and use the 25%off banner above ,,the Marauder can be upgrade a ton ,,,, some used it for the 150 yrd golf ball contest ,,also the Kral puncher breaker and the Hatsan Bullboss nice bull pups good luck pat

For the Maximus, order from Crosman, use the AGNATION code and get 25% discount. That puts you at $165 for the gun. I'd still recommend going after a Marauder as a minimum entry for a couple reasons.
1. the trigger is much better than the Maximus trigger. It will impact your accuracy.
2. The shroud makes it extremely quiet and back yard friendly.
3. Accurate. What more need we say.
4. Magazine fed. 10 shots without mucking with a single shot tray.
5. Adjustable, and I mean adjustable:
Hammer Spring
Hammer Throw
Transfer Port
Cheek piece
The adjustability allows you to shoot anything from light to heavy pellets, with only a minor adjustment using 3 hex wrenches. Keep records of your adjustments and pellet combinations, and you can shoot anything pretty well.

The gun is 7.3 pounds without scope. Not as light as some, but not as bad as one might think
It is about 43 inches long with full shroud.

Using the discount above, the gun is about $400.

The Maximus is about 5 pounds, so wins on that one. The trigger, from what reviewers state is not as good as the Marauder.

Where the Maximus shines is pumping if that's your direction. The Marauder needs at least 2500 psi to work well. The max fill is 3000. That's a bear to pump to. The Maximus only requires 2000 PSI, and that's a lot easier pump action. If you are buying a HPA bottle, doesn't really matter.

You can't go wrong on either gun, and getting into shooting is the important part. Don't fret on the decision too much, just make your call, order the gun and start shooting. you can't go wrong on any of your choices.

I went straight to the Marauder when I went to PCP's and never looked back.
Still got both of them. Shot a lot of tree rats with them. The biggest reason I
went with the Marauder is it is quite and has a clip. I got my first one used
Im sure you could get one very reasonable. If you want to spend more money
your just gonna get better and better guns the more you spend and you won't
be sorry. But sometimes it's about the journey. Have fun

Thanks for all the suggestions. I can understand the point a few have made regarding the fact that I will probably wish to upgrade before too long. However, I simply don't have the amount of expendable income available to me at the moment that I would really need for top shelf gear. I also don't know that I really have need for it at this point. I enjoy plinking, casual target shooting and pest
control around my property. Most of the shooting I do will be at 50yds and in. I do not like the look of the marauder rifle, although the pistol version is something I've been considering. I would set it up as a carbine if I went that route.
