In search of .177 for pesting?

Yep, sell it off to some other sucker!
I can't it shoots to good to part with despite the issues. Its like I have a rem 700 243 that shoots lights out with anything I put in it, factory or reloads 58 grains to 100 grains eats it up. I am wanting to build a 22-250 for yotes and I was going to use that action but I just can't when it shoots so good. I really like the idea of a m3 impact compact but I am afraid to get one and have issues with it. I'm not a tinker. Thats kinda why I am leaning towards huntsman regulated.

Thanks
Jon

40 to 50 shot count is plenty. I honestly don't want a long or real heavy gun. If I was getting something like that it would be the RAW. This not an ambush type hunt, more of act of opportunity. Looking out window seeing some birds sneaking open door and popping one or walking around outside with gun on sling doing stuff and one lands near by. So gun will be on person or in corner by door.

Thanks
Jon
In that case, a lefty version of either the Huntsman Revere or Taipan Veteran would be ideal, with the Daystate being a much lighter rifle. I'm sure there are less expensive options, I'm just not familiar with them.

The only other thing I dislike about the marauder is the bolt or cocking it more specifically. It is not an easy motion and takes a good pull to get it cocked back. I have a cricket 2 tactical with the side lever and its butter smooth. I am open to anything that's not really big or heavy.

Thanks
Jon
Mine does the same thing. You pull back the bolt and it's like a new effort to pull back the bolt 1-2 more millimeters to index the pellet.

I use my P35-177 on sparrows. It likes H&N Baracuda 10.65s. Power or Baracuda or Baracuda Match. It shoots them at 875-895 fps. I get about 100 shots if I fill it to 250 bar. I usually fill it to a bit less. I shoot from my left shoulder and bought my 3 P35s because they work great for left handed shooters. The magazine is flush and on the P35, others report you can move the cocking lever over to the left side if you want. I like it on the right so my trigger hand can stay in position so I have not moved it. It's nearly the same as the Stoeger Bullshark other than the stock and the amount of room in the shroud. The bullshark is more limited in the shroud but comes with a fitting for a moderator. I'm using printed in shroud moderators in my P35s which makes them quiet. But sparrows are jumpy so I still only get one at a time, normally.

You really don't need a 10.65 grain 177 pellet for a sparrow. The regulator could be reduced increasing the shot count for 8 grain pellets but I don't know how well it would work set up that way. Never tried it. My 22 and 25 caliber P35s regulators seem to work better than my 177. But that could just be gun to gun variation. The 177 regulator is about 115 bar and the 22 and 25 are significantly higher (maybe 135 bar). So if you bumped it down to 100 bar would the regulator work better or worse? I don't know.

The P35/P25 (rear cocking)/Stoeger bullshark will need their trigger adjusted and will be quieter with a little work on the shroud contents (hair curler mod or moderator). I also polished the crown of mine because they had obvious chatter marks. They are all nicely compact and light with good power. Accuracy is a bit more of a crap shoot but most reports are favorable for recent production. If I miss a sparrow in my yard (limit is about 30 yards) I know it's me. It's reasonable to expect to be able to hit them at 50 yards, I think.

Heck, a $200 stormrider sounds about perfect. Light weight, small, powerful. Could tune it down just a smidge and increase the shot count from 20 up to 30s or so.
Good point. I just threw a regulator in my .177 Stormrider and turned it into a 30 shot 16 fpe tack driver. I haven't even tried to tune it. I'm sure I could tweak it a little and get 40 shots easily.

Not sure your budget but my go to in 177 pesting around the house is my Vixen long. Super accurate with pellets and Zan 10gr slugs. Its quite, no moderator needed and a great trigger. Also light and easy to shoot off hand as well as the bench. I ordered mine from Krale, great company to deal with and super fast shipping!
