In 5 years, my ONLY complaint! (FX BOSS)

Spent 4 hours with Centercut yesterday getting my FX Boss up & running. It's my absolute favorite gun. But after those 4 hrs getting the sear, hammer weight & hammer to work correctly the trigger 2nd stage was dangerously feather light. I figured no big deal, I'll fix it when I get home. Took me almost 3 hours just to adjust it. It is STUPIDLY complicated. Every time one certain screw is turned, 3 or 4 others have to be readjusted to "balance" it out. The FX manual for it is sort of generic (covers about 6 different guns) & the trigger adjustment section doesn't even address the Boss specifically. Very frustrating! Wish someone could engineer an aftermarket assembly to simplify this craziness. ONLY complaint I've ever had.

, i almost think they did that on purpose because they don't want you to mess with it and dont want to be responsible for telling you how to adjust it. Glad you at least got it sorted.

What ended up being the fault for the non cocking issue, Gerry? What parts had to be replaced?

I had an anxiety filled evening before finally getting the Boss match trigger set up in my Royale. FX took a stab at convention by combining the geometry of 2 levers with their (IMO) nutty trigger roll system. It allows a light pull trigger, but without a lot of options in adjustment. Once you get it right, don't touch it, never ever touch it again. One positive, it can be taken out as a module if you want to put the standard trigger in for field use. With companies like Weihrauch, Daystate, Steyr, and Anschutz having designed some excellent triggers, I wish FX had started there.

Trigger Sear was not latching onto hammer weight correctly. Mike had one on hand & once we traded it out it all worked as it should. Of course, when we put it back together external reg o-rings were leaking but Mike had one of those too & popped it in. Holding air now with no problems. I breath a sigh of relief

For 5 years ive LOVED the Boss trigger but after removing & futzing with the assembly a number of times things got out of whack. It's not exactly what it was before but still great. I'll get used to it.
