Impressed with .30 STX / 700mm Impact X

After a rough and slow acquisition process, I was finally able to shoot my Impact yesterday for the first time. I'm incredibly impressed with the way it slings lead, I ran several magazines full of 44gr Hatsan Vortex pellets at some paper 60 and 75y out (these pellets aren't so great btw - about 1 out of every ~7-8 were fliers - the edges of the skirts were not uniform with material).

I zeroed at 60 and the first 6 pellets left a hole smaller than a quarter. 75y was also no sweat for it. I just wish that I had a longer distance to target yesterday at my secondary outdoor target spot (the better spots with longer ranges were taken).

In terms of shot count, I didn't quite get a full 3 mags per fill - however, I haven't tuned it yet. The valve stop was probably out waaay too far, and I didn't dial it down. I'll definitely get her tuned right where it should be when I get the rest of my slug kit tomorrow.

Also, quite to my surprise - the power wheel is something else!!! I dialed down from max to min, and the pellet just lobbed out. I was not at all expecting that dramatic of a speed decrease - I'm extremely happy about this!!!

If the 23gr NSAs group nearly as well, then I'm going to be pretty a happy camper. I guess the Impact hype was for real after all <3

The Hatsan are re-branded JSB according to what I've read.

You'll probably get to the range with your 22 slug liner before I will. Soonest for me is Friday even though the kit will be here tomorrow!!

Pics of your Impact!!

They sure do look (exactly) like JSB's. I'm just kind of shocked that most of them shot straight with the outer edges of the skirts being the way that they were.

And bummer that you have to wait! Is your Crown down? I had 4 Impact-related deliveries coming today that USPS couldn't deliver due to ice on the streets (even though I saw him stop, then turn around 35' from the mailbox in our culdesac). FedEx has my barrel kit, they're usually more motivated to deliver :)

Glad to read you like it, is really something else

Yes indeed. I'm glad it performs as it does, it makes up for the hell that was the last couple of weeks!
