First let me say I'm NOT a world class shooter , or former Olympic medalist or nothing ...But I can shoot , I'm not bragging I'm just saying . Now here's where I almost always run into something kinda odd .
I go to our local shooting range and amongst the Weekend Rambos with their "Black" weapons there are some guys shooting for groups and trying seriously to become better shooters . They see my one eyed ass and turn their spotting scopes to see how I'm shooting and wander over to take a look at my gun and scope . I watch them shoot and don't need to look downrange to their targets ..I already know what its gonna look like . ... Like you poured rabbit poop all over the target . ... Now here's where I always notice there are two groups of shooters. The guys who kindly ask would you mind checking their equipment and possibly give a pointer or two to help them improve ....And group TWO These guys are macho . They crap thunder and crush smaller men beneath their boots ..No Way they gonna let another man show them how to shoot !!! Hell that's like asking another man to shake you off after you pee. .... The difference EVERY SINGLE TIME is the guy who never gets better and is deaf to learning is 100% of the time ex military . By gosh I was taught by Sargent hairy legs how to handle a weapon !!! How's a one eyed ex state champion in two different shooting sports gonna help me ??? Now I'm not saying that all ex military guys are like that . But ive found most of the guys here on this forum are accomplished shooters ( I know I see the groups ) Now you guys think about what I just said a moment ...Every one of you knows this guy !!! The super badass who shaves with a bowie knife and wipes his butt with the skin of a grizzly he just killed with his bare hands... This man among men ...Now was he or was he not a soldier ?? You dang right he was ..... Some guys are too hard headed and and prideful to ask for help and former soldiers almost always are ....NotMe !! .I have learned a ton of stuff in this sport and the guys are always more than happy to give you a leg up ...... But if you already know everything ,,,,well one hole groups are just not ever gonna be something you can do very often . The difference is I see shooting sports as relaxing and something you can enjoy as you improve . And when you seem to not be moving forward ask around ....SpinJ , AJ shoots , Michael,Tom, Jonnes , Fenderguy , Iride , Neil , Ernest , Coldking , GoodtoGo,John MA, AZ , CampFussel and a ton more that slip my feeble mind at the moment are a wealth of information that is there for the asking . Screw my pride , I wanna shoot like those guys do .
