Impact x 30 numbers

Ok. So it would appear that my gun is sorted (for now) thanks to input from some of y’all. At 50 yds zeroing it again: TL zeroing, TR 17 shots in 1/2” (excellent considering my rest wasn’t perfect, I was on an empty stomach all hopped up on caffeine n nicotine so I was very shaky, AND the pellets are about 1/4” across themselves!!), and the rest one shot each so I didn’t feel like I put up 6 targets for nothing.

So here’s some numbers. Remember that this is my first pcp. This gun has been crazy easy for me to tune to get strings like this with 45s and 50s. However, even though the gun may like the tune, the 50s don’t always like the exact velocity, so I’ve retuned it several times. Each time I get a tune this consistent in less than an hour. I had a tune that shot the 50s well initially. Been trying to find it again. Got tired of fighting it and decided to run 45s. They fly well anywhere from 780-920fps out of my gun. So I’m not fighting it any more. 45s it is. This shot string actually had 14 shots. It didn’t record 2 of the 861fps duplicates for some reason. So the numbers are technically a lil better than they read.

I’ll take her back to 100 if I can get just one day that isn’t completely awful outside. Thanks again to those who took the time to help me troubleshoot. In the last few days I e taken several house sparrows from 80-90yds. Even got one at 117 (furthest shot ever with an air rifle by far). I guess soon I’ll need to rezero my scope and maybe fiddle with dialing for distance. I’ve never done that before, and frankly I’m a bit afraid to touch anything not that it shoots lights out again lol. Guess I need to get over it and figure how to make some turret tape for dialing and take the time to do it.

Nice shooting!!

Before you start dialing a lot, make sure yours scope's turrets are made for dialing.

I'm pretty sure I wore out the elevation turret on my Athlon Argos BTR on the last outing. Going back to zero was almost 10 clicks off.

If that happens to me tomorrow I'll have to send the scope in for warranty work and look to upgrade after that.

Way to go on the house sparrows.... they're not easy targets!

Bob see if you could just pay the difference for a nicer athlon. I really like my Midas TAC.

Ha. I was going to message you about your Argos to see if you’ve had issues with it or not as far as dialing goes. So for now I guess I’ll hold off. Let us know how yours shakes out please.

How many shots do you get from the .30 cal? I have the 25 and get about 78 shots at 55 ft lb before it starts dropping. Maybe one day I'll get a 30 cal barrel for it. Right now 55ft lb is plenty enough.

Shooting 50gr at 853fps at 149 bar I was getting a lil over 2 mags so 28+4 to 6 more so 32-34ish. Now pushing 45gr at 860 on about 148 bar with hammer on 5 and valve stop slightly closed it’s almost 3 mags so approximately 38-40.
