Impact X .30, 700mm....crapped the bed?

Hello good People,

Once again I start this reply by stating that I am not an expert, but it pains me when people are in need and are obviously struggling and have bad/totally wrong info regarding their rights and personal technical ability.

Ernest has said many times, both on camera and on phone calls to me personally that as the official FX repair center he decided that he will advocate that users try to fix their own guns. Furthermore he is a gentleman and a self taught scholar, as such he has guided many of us over the phone to become above average air gun tinkerers.

I live in South Africa, he has sent me parts, even though we have our own service centre here! Just think what he will do for you if you live in the US!

You will not void your warranty, please watch the master class series of videos, in particular the regulator videos, also watch some of Ernest’s older Impact videos, be cognisant of the fact that where he says you can void your warranty is before FXUSA was established.

If you have a leak at the reg bleed hole then you have a problem with one of the following:

C38, inner 2x1 nbr90

C39, bugger of an oring, 9x1.5 or 10x1.5 on X model nbr90. This is most likely your issue, many of us, including myself have had this leak, some of us have replaced the ring many times and still had a leak, only to find that the ring wasn’t properly seated, lubed or a piece of hair or lint has seated in the groove or on the oring surface.

C34 4x1.5 nbr70 and C35 piston are next, on the standard reg this interface is also a point of inspection if a leak occurs from the breath hole. This is a dynamic interface and needs to be perfect, use a magnifying glass to inspect the piston seal and outer cylinder.

Lastly clean everything, really well! And lube generously when reassembling.

I am almost positive that you will be able to sort this leak out, why you ask, well I am basically a functional retard and live in the part of the world that is upside down and was able to sort it out, so you have every chance of succeeding as you have Ernest basically on your doorstep!

Hang in there, try to get a hold of Ernest once he is back in NC, he will sort you out, either by guiding you or by you returning your gun to him for service as he is the best place to send your gun too.

Folks, I recently bought a FX Crown and it came with a leak out of the box. Leak on arrival. I sent it right back. I am in the market for an ambidextrous rifle. Wait for the RAW is way too long. Is there an FX 101 set of tutorials. I am looking for a video and schematic that shows the placement of all of the O-rings in the impact and the Crown.

Here are a PDF guide to Troubleshooting the FX Impact, i dont know if it works for the Crown.
