The time is almost upon us. I’ll be ordering an impact in 30 with Athlon Argos btr 6-24x50 (30mm tube). I’ll be running a side shot. Wanna make sure I’ve got enough clearance to easily install/remove the side shot ring onto the tube without the rail stopping it from being too close. Anyone else run this setup or one similar? Will I need high rings or can I get away with medium? On my xbow I had to get high rings. Thanks.

Most PCP's require 'tall rings' or medium + sized rings. I prefer running a 2" scope height myself, more scope height generally translates into being able to reach out further with the same scope. HTH

You need at least 22mm tall rings on an impact since there's no drop at the buttstock. Otherwise you'll be tilting your head to get a good sight picture.

You'll definitely need high rings regardless of what you plan on doing. I found that if I used the FX No Limits rings they brought the scope up to a level compatible with my eye. I don't think the anatomy of my face is so different from that of most people, and from what I've seen on the various photos via the internet, it's almost a universal thing to use higher than normal rings for the Impact.

Gun and all of the necessary things (I hope) on order. Stuff will start trickling in as early as Friday. Thanks for the info. I got two types of high rings but not the fx no-limit. I got the utg 1-piece. I also grabbed the vortex tactical in case the 1-piece doesn’t work with the side shot. If neither work for some reason I’ll get the fx no limit n use these for other guns. Hopefully I get everything set up somewhat smoothly and can post a bit about it along with some footage before the end of the month. Thanks again!
