Impact or Leshiy?

I'm new to the sport (been shooting my whole life but took an interest in air guns recently). I have been watching vids for a long time now and own a Gamo Springer and I'm thinking of getting a PCP. The Impact has a lot of options while the Leshiy is very compact and seems to be a better shooting gun for a suburban back yard with near by neighbors. The Leshiy is a little more expensive than the Impact but the Impact has a longer proven track record, with a lot of adaptability. For those that have shot both can you help me out?

The Leshiy is a great gun short/compact good power and accuracy for such a short barrel, the more power the snappier the shot cycle and harder to be accurate at longer distances along with a hunters trigger. to me its one of a few guns to own but not the only one. The Impact is What ever you make it, can be short, long, tuned down for short range back yard or up for long range slugs. hunt or bench rest its an all around excellent gun. If I was to own only 1 (as if lol) I would chose the Impact.

This is my Impact Compact MKII in Bronze with a DonnyFL Sumo and Helix scope.

I would personally recommend the impact just because it’s more versatile, and since it’s your first gun it would be nice to have a single gun to hold you off for a while at least. The impact even in standard size is still relatively compact for hunting while being able to reach out way further than the leshiy could. However, it really comes down to what you plan to do with it. If you plan to only shoot within 70ish yards and in your backyard then the leshiy could be a perfect fit. However, there is a possibility that once you get the gun you will want to do more with it than originally intended, which is why I think the flexibility of the impact would be ideal.

Just to add about the flexibility of the Impact. I bought the gun for target shooting / 100 m bench rest and for a travel hunting gun. The change of caliber option for long ranges is what I am looking for, plus being bottled you have a very high shot capacity compared to the Leshiy. My compact version of the Impact comes in exactly at 25 inches (without the DonnyFL moderator on) and about 8 and 1/2 pounds as pictured. The 25” is small enough IMHO to be put into a larger backpack which I have, and take it as an over height hunting gun. The Leshiy II can do all this too, but doesn’t have the capacity of the Impact and is not a long range gun.

Isn’t Edgun much better quality than FX? I see FX breakdowns all day long here. I know this is the FXnation site and all, but I don’t see those breakdowns and reliability issues with Edgun. Being that I am a broke &$^% and have neither, I don’t have a dog in this fight. But from looking over both, I would buy (and do plan on buying) an Edgun long before I buy an FX product.

There is no comparing the impact and leshiy. They’re 2 different animals. It all boils down to what you want to use it for. The leshiy is ideal for hunting and backpacking less than 100yds. They’re built like tanks, and are extremely reliable.
the impact is arguably the most adjustable airgun ever built. It’s great for bench or hunting, but not as rugged or problem free. Most problems are caused by user error, but aside, a gun with this many orings and parts, there’s bound to be issue.
magazine, it’s all about what you want.
a rugged built for hunting and backpacking gun, or an extremely adjustable Bench rest/hunting gun for much farther distances and much higher power.

I know but I would like to buy a really good gun and not have buyers remorse saying I wish I had.

Two very different guns and you'll have buyers remorse regardless of which gun you buy ;) Jk, either are honestly solid options.

Impact is not necessarily a white glove gun, but since you're spending $2k for an airgun, you'll probably end up white gloving her like most of us anyways lol. It's my stay at home gun. Awkward for me to backpack with and not as maneuverable in the field in comparison to say a Wildcat. (Edit* I have the 700mm barrel FWIW, not the compact so I can't quite comment there)

Leshiy2 on order, no ones really had experience shooting it. Time will tell. But I plan to use that as my backpacker.

Just curious but in general is the Impact a white glove gun that needs babying to shoot it well. Is the Leshiy a no frills out of the box gun that you can beat up and be a killer shot to about 100 yards?

I’m not saying the leshiy isn’t capable of hitting targets out to 100 yards, it most definitely could. However if you wanted to stretch it out that far the impact would be better suited. Plus the only way to shoot the leshiy that far with any accuracy would be off a bench, and in my opinion if you mostly plan to bench shoot the leshiy it kinda defeats the purpose of the small compact design which is more at home in the field. If I wanted to shoot that far I would just get a dedicated bench gun (like a raw or impact)

I heard the same info when I bought my Impact but I really liked the looks and ability to change calibers ETC. so I called AOA and spoke to Daren there who advised me that most problems with the gun was user error. I had bought a Bobcat 6 months before and was thrilled at the accuracy and dependability of that one (BTW Douger now owns it and has bragged to me about its accuracy). I never needed a single O ring in any of my 5 FX rifles including my Impact I owned 4+ years. Yes I am a fan of FX rifles as I personally have never been let down by them so dont sell yourself short, you might be missing out.

Those are 2 great, and expensive, air guns, you can't go wrong with either. But, as others have stated, they are completely different from each other. Do you have a way to fill a PCP with dry air? Before you spend over $2K for just the gun, think about how you are going to fill it. You can easily spend more on filling equipment than the gun itself, a lot of people don't take that into consideration when jumping in with both feet. It's a fun sport, but the rabbit hole is really deep.
