Impact mk2 power plenum

Hey Blejda,

I just received a Mk 2 with power plenum from Utah Airguns and it shoots light out. So first of all, a big thanks to Austin at UtahAirguns for the tune. It is a .25 cal, shooting the 25.39 grain JSB's. The regulator is set at 110 bars, the trigger spring adjust (wheel/dial) is as follows, at 4 it shoots the 25.39's an average of 874fps, at 5 = 923, and at max = 952. The knob above the bottle is positioned at about 2 3/4 lines.

Hope this helps.

If the dealer set them up for higher power, it would make sense. With the new power plenum, the range of options for reg settings just got wider. It can be lowered for shot count, or could be kept the same or increased for more power. All depends on who set it up and why they did it that way. Does the dealer test them out before selling them? He may want to show off the power.

It seems like dealers assume everyone wants to shoot at the highest power possible. They rarely take time to ask about how the end user plans to use the gun. If you have a 25 yard backyard a neighbor close by with kids and pets, your needs are different than someone on a 500 acre farm. There is a time and place for max power, but nearly as often as we are led to believe, and max power and best accuracy are rarely the case.

My FX Impact MKii w/ PP in .22 cal came with the reg seat at between 80-85 bar
[Prior to the new version reg - we were told never to decrease reg pressure below 100 bar, so that had me concerned right off the bat]
Of course I scoured the net for up to date info regarding this, and there's nothing but conflicting info.
No manual comes with the gun, and the PDF manual is now 'out of date', since the rifles come with different/new components now..

Sam -

Sometimes, the lack of info on high priced items is unbelievable. Like I think many of you, I like to study and understand something before I buy it. The industry is general, is more like just hand us thousands of dollars sight unseen, and hope you can figure it out later. The vids and manuals I’ve found are useless. If you have a MKI, blah, blah blah. If you have a MKII, blah, blah, blah. Oh, you have a MKII with a power plenum, Blah, blah, blah. If manufacturers had to work for our business, they would have to explain it and try to tell us why we should buy it.

Sam been running mine around 72 bar for 2000 rounds. Holds fine there, no ill effects.
