Impact failed today!!

I called & talked to Kevin , if you don't reach him leave a voicemail, he is good about returning calls , it might be the next day though, I was ordering a 22 cal probe, & asked for the screw, he just included it free, it is a replacement from FX, if you purchased from AOA they should just send you one, but that isn't my call, good luck , roger

"Ginuwine1969"Hey does anyone know what size the pellet probe on a .25 Cal screw is??? Mine just broke the day after I got my Impact back from AOA :-( Was hoping I could go to Home depot or lowes and pick up a replacment?
Before you go to your local hardware store to get that probe screw you should read this first.

get the right FX replacement screw cause it's a safety issue.

If it makes anyone feel better (I know it won't), this is one issue that is not specific to the Impact. I almost always have issues like this with any gun with a side-lever (of any kind).

I just got a whole replacement cocking lever for my Mutant because the cocking link arm snapped when I went to cock it. The indexing pin on my Cricket bent and then snapped after 2 months. The cocking link pin on my Hatsan arrived broken.

Basically airgun companies all suck at choosing quality materials. They spec them like toys designed to last a few years instead of like guns designed to last a lifetime.

Basic common sense eludes all of them sometimes. FX, Kalibrgun, Taipan etc, if any of you guys ever read this forum, look in the mirror and repeat the following at least 100 times:

- thin metal breaks easily and should never ever be used on any moving parts
- thin wood breaks easily and should never be used on a stock
- using soft brass or any soft metal for any reason on an air gun is a mortal sin. Just stop. No more brass ever!
- if we can't make PCP guns that hold air, then we can't make PCP guns

Words to live by!

Well got my impact all back together after AOA polished the barrel, and think i put over 260 rounds thru it in the last 48 hours doing pellet testing and came up with MK1's Valve spring set to 4 and Power wheel on B, with the regulator set at AOA supposedly @ 143 bar.

Ten shots at 50 yards all measurements in inches, the -1 is what the group would be -1bad shot / flyer
