Brian the bit and pieces to make your bipod tube extension, materials ????????

The more forward yow can mount the bipod the more control you will have in hitting the target. As a test, shoot your rifle using a sandbag for forward support, you will find the closer he bag is to the front of the rifle the more accurate your shooting will be. some time ago I made an adjustable extension for my Crownto find that sweet spot for the bipod I’ve even had the bipod in front of the rifle it seems to give you a fine tuning in adjusting your aim.
If I understand your question correctly, the extension will simply allow you more options on the placement of bipod. Further forward is generally good for stability but shooting styles vary and for me, there is such a thing as too far forward. UA had one for a very brief time that I liked more than the kraford and lipt.... No clue what happened to it.
