I'm getting ready to do the initial cleaning of a new barrel. Do I need to depressurize the whole gun to remove the barrel?

Note: Impacts are best if they are NEVER fully depressurized. Pressure on seals keeps them sealing!
And no, you don't need to depressurize the gun to remove the barrel. Just cock and discharge it (in a safe direction) to make sure it is clear, put on the safety and remove the barrel.

Yes, it is just fine. Fully close the cocking lever first.
I would just never fire one to totally depressurize or if the air bottle has been removed, but as long as there is air in the bottle, dry-firing is fine.
In fact (in the future, perhaps), to adjust the regulator pressure down, you need to dry fire it as specified in the FX Owner's Manual. You make small adjustments to the reg, dry fire 2-3 times until the reg settles at its new pressure, and repeat the process until you achieve the reg pressure you want.

I would also say that you do not need to remove the barrel to clean it. Patchworm and you are good to go.
