Impact .30 Pellet Speed Test

Has anyone done any extensive testing to determine what speed the pellet likes most with the impact?

Ted for instance went out of the box and showed many of us that the .25 pellet had a much better bc in the 830 fps range vs many who shot it at 860-880. I see people posting all over how much they enjoy the grouping at 830.

Has anyone done this for the .30? What speed does it like? I know for different areas it may very a little, but has anyone narrowed it down to a tight range?

TIA

I'm hopeful that someone has done some testing on this, but I haven't see much data either. I just got my .30 barrel before it got generally cold and windy, so I haven't had time to do all that much with it. From the limited testing I've done, I think the 50 gr JSBs are as good, if not better than the 44 gr, but max speed was in the low 800 range if I recall correctly. It's hard to imagine wanting to shoot any slower than that, since it's already quite a lob to get out to 100 yds. I'm away from home at the moment so I don't have the data in front of me.

PS- I made it back home and looked up the numbers for my Impact. The absolute max speed I can get is 835 fps for 50 gr, and 867 fps for 44 gr.

Most guns cant sling a .30 at 920, so that is data all on its own. However, he is a good tuner and know that he can achieve what he claims. As for most other guns, I have talked to some people and the 44gr does like to go fast. It is stable and can go pretty much as fast as you can sling it. I have heard of people shooting the 44gr anywhere from 830-905. Raw was in the 830-860. Impacts in the 845-880. Bobcat in the 890 range. Boss in the 900. I am an fx fan, so I tend to have a lot of data on fx guns.

I don't have an impact however my WARP is tuned for 820fps with the 44.75grs and it's capable of sub MOA at 100yds. I can push them faster but that's my first tune and with it shooting so good I just haven't messed with it :) Also my RAW was slinging them at 890fps when I owned it and think it was just alittle too fast from what I saw out to 100yds.

Here is documentation I get from My FX Impact .30 for JSB 50 grain and 44 grain.

JSB 50 grn 882 FPS

JSB 44 grn 910 FPS.

Here is the Testing and POI of my Imapact using the 50.15 grn JSBs from 20 to 100 yards Sub MOA at 100 almost always... I like the 50 grain better, seems to have a lot more thump when it hits ( :

I shot all these shots in one round same time and day and with an occasional lite wind gust.

Down load the PDF and JPG and look at it. The 20 to 100 groups are 5 shots each on June 1st 2019 and some distances grouped tighter than others due to wind and me of course lol
