Impact 30 cal. Groundhog at 186 yd- Crushed Him!

I think I finally found the caliber and slugs to use on groundhogs in general and for chest shots. While a lot of air rifle calibers can take out larger critters with head shots the 30 lets you go for a chest shot. My 30 cal shooting the Varmint Knockers at 880 fps while maybe not as fast as some shoot still fly true with excellent accuracy. Short video here to watch but it seems to only show in 480p for me so the clarity is not the best. Bill

I find it interesting that you did not use your multi-aim-point reticle for that shot. I assume you clicked-in an elevation adjustment?

I always click for longer distances. With that shot at 186 yards I would have had to hold an 9.3 mil hold over and when you add hold-off for wind it just makes it too hard to aim precisely for me. I did hold off .7 mil for wind which was calculated with my wind meter and Strelok. That is one reason I like FFP scopes for windage hold since there is no extra calculation no matter the magnification you are using. Plus at longer ranges the FFP reticle will always be easy to see at the higher magnification I am using. Nice shot. What scope were you using and was that recorded with a side shot GoPro?

I was using a Falcon 3-18x50 ffp scope and a SideShot with the GoPro 5. Like I said the video quality was only set at 480p which I think was done by mistake in the editing software. The Falcon is a good scope and I like that it has 10 mil per revolution which gets you out there yardage wise. Bill
