Impact 25 cal Barrel Problems

I ordered a new FX Impact last December and I got it before Xmas. The gun did not shoot well at 50 yards and was worse at 100 yards. I spent a lot of time and shot over 500 rounds but could never make it shoot . I sent it back to the company I bought it from and told them of my problem. They kept it for 2 weeks. I needed the gun for a tv production company that I supply firearms and technical support for. The rifle would not be back in time for me to set it up in time for the video shoot.
So I ordered another Impact from a different dealer this one came in and I set it up and took it to the range didn't shoot well at 50 yards. I then used my FX Crown and shot 1 inch groups at a hundred. so I know it wasn't me . I can't use the crown as we already shot some footage with the Impact and need to keep the continuity of the video. I went back to the shop and inspected the bore with a bore scope. I could not believe what I saw the bore had cracks and splits in the lands and groves. I called the dealer and was told even tho they were a warranty service center for FX they didn't have any barrels.

Called FX USA Talked to Ernest and he said to send the Barrel in and he would Replace with a new one. After I sent in bad new barrel 2 weeks latter I received the new barrel today. Opened the package and the barrel looked like a used one. When I went to install it in rifle it would stop at the breech. You would have to pound it in to make it seat. I was EOD USMC I never force anything could be bad.
Tomorrow I will call Ernest and see if I can get this fixed with a sat delivery of new barrel so I can make the Video shoot on tues. And the first Impact Came back inspected barrel they polished it so much that muzzle is like funnel. I am so upset I just ordered a new x barrel for it. Not Happy with FX Impacts at this time.

Sorry to hear that about your impact eodman, hope you get it sorted out. I had trouble with my magazine loading heavies, it was tight and crushed the skirts but once i got that straightened out it shoots very well.a few three shot groups after work yesterday with my impact .25 heavies, light wind.57yrds

I had the same problem once with a R400 .22, it almost drove me insane.
Shot like a wet towel, and fliers all over the place. I must have taken it apart over 10 times.
Slugged the barrel, looked and felt fine, except a slight loose spot just in front of the ST part of the barrel. So barrel was suspect nr. 1.
Machined a CZ blank to fit the R400 and tried it on the Royale. Still shot like cr@p.
Speed was pretty consistent, so I didn't expect the reg. to be the culprit.
Long story short, IT WAS the regulator. After a rebuild, it shot like a laserbeam.
In a nutshell, it doesn't neccesarily have to be a bad barrel, it could also be something else.

Edit: Have you ever tried it without the shroud? You might as well have a clipping issue with the shroud. It happens sometimes.

"eodman"I'm not allowed to release the name but I can say it has been on air for over 10 seasons and is on a major cable channel. Great show never a negative word about firearms or owners .

So if they were to advertise their show what sort of advertisement would it be?? LOL!!
I can't see how getting more viewers would be a bad thing?
